I wanna tell people about the guy that got that Garic. I know him from sunwich port. Eckhard he doesn't even have a car, always walks miles to fish, catches lifts, or taxi. A true hard fisherman, with passion. What a champ and a true ambassador for the sport. Tops on releasing that fish as you said they a breeding pair. If a battler with no job and income can release his catch, so can most of us who have jobs and an income. Well done Eckhard.
Well you get fishermen and you get fishermen, sometimes it's a small separation, but sometimes it's passion and understanding..... Now that makes s great fisherman!! There's the example of one such fisherman. Kudo's to you young man...may others learn from you!!

Lovely to see this video. I grew up on those rocks in Winkel. Best years of my life. Today I am older and after 40 years of JHB I now live on a beach again and have just bought my first rod again. Will be throwing a bait today for the first time in 40 years.
Nice catch good release, should have rather fished winkels instead of wasting a week in Margate in the rain, but atleast got to meet up with JJ, hope we can fish winkels soon
@@TrueNorthFishing I fished Winkle rocks for pompono for many years.. whole mussels. Had many epic battles from right of pool to beach. Really good grounds when not sanded
Sho, to hook a garric on those rocks with such light tackle must be a hell f a fight. Lol I caught a 12kg+ barber on my flyrod with a riny koffie geinder on wednesday. Was fishing for kurper with a earthworm 😂
Caught a garrick like that just before south broom by the ski boat club with super light tackle Shakespeare inspinity Inspinity 5′2 rod and spinning reel wasn't even going for garrick fight was awesome but i got it on a ledge infront of me just as I grabbed it by the tail to pick up a wave took me off the Rock snapping my line lost the fish but saved the rod 😂rather keep the rod can always catch another garrick but can't get another 1 of these rods anymore 😄
