Love Ian and Steve is a great lyricist, but what has really hit home to me lately is Peter Koppes and his integral part played in the machine that is "The Church". He is a weapon in his own right and as in this interview remains elusive. Would have loved to hear a few words from him. Tim Powles has risen in my mind to be my favorite Australian drummer. A machine.
We grew up loving them on TV and then were blown away when had the opportunity to meet & make friends with several members of the band. They are the most genuinely kind, laid back, hard working, funny and friendly guys you could ever meet. Peter is a true gentleman and is very modest and has a very cute sense of humour. You feel immediately at ease in their presence. Seeing the band play live is also life changing. Church fans, as an audience, are such a special energy to be around. Sending our very best to all the Church fans. Xx
For anyone who loves The Church and is intrigued by the creative dynamics involved in a great band and how that all works within the music industry... The second part of this, on the dichotomy of focusing ones energy on creating art while trying to also manage its potential monetary value, I found really interesting and applicable to any artist, writer, photographer, etc. Steve Kilbey can come off as a bit of an impetuous rebel. But its evident here towards the end how eloquent and reflective he is towards his own creative nature. I should read his autobiography.

It's very hard without Marty. Very hard. I still love these guys.
