You need a micro servo just like the rudder servo for example or aftermarket. The flaps linkage that the plane comes with Glue Decent length servo extension for the new flap servo Knife to cut the foam Think that’s it as far as parts. Main thing is micro size servo and a 12” servo lead extension, plus that Y flap linkage
Can this be done on a DX6 G2 and use still Safe mode's, but Flaps instead of the panic button taking up two channels combined? For SAFE i select it as my Gear Channel, under Switch B like in the manual.. But then instead of the Panic Button being assigned to Aux 1 and Switch I/Bind Button. Assign the Aux 1 to be the Flaps control, by assigning Aux 1 for the flaps, by assigning it to 3 Pos. Switch D, like in the video.
Its not that easy. How new is it? If its less than 2yrs old its going to have the newer Flight Controller setup for the GOS & LAS vs like an AR631 safe/as3x 6ch RX which is better really in the long run.
As far as i know you cant do safe and flaps without a 7+ch TX or the DXS works its just on a preset switch and you need the PC USb programmer cable also too though and the adapter harness that came with the DXS but i dont have one so ive never messed with the DXS except for using it for the flight simulator’s for planes and drones. I use a DX6 G2 an just now installed the Flaps. Now ive heard this can be done with pc usb programmer cable needed as well for the receiver and you can set up your own safe mode maps and not take up extra channels leaving one available for flaps. But if your plane is newer has the serial remote receiver and flight controller combo, I think you need a DX7/DX8 or NX8 for it to work for the carbon cub s2 for example but I could be a wrong. Im not an expert on this stuff or this controller so it’s defenitely possible that there’s a way to do it and have flaps with 6 channels. Even if i have to settle for locked in flight modes i would rather have that than have no flaps at all with Safe and 6ch TX..
@@justinbogard6700 I actually didn’t think id care about the voice commands but now i use them all the time. Id probably look for even a used NX8 or DX8 G2 for the forward programming ability vs the G1/V1.
Do you have a link for all the parts I would need to install

I've been wondering that same thing, did you find a solution?
Can I use my DX6e transmitter for this setup?
my smart checker has 2 options for checking servos, which one do I use?
What do the addition of these flaps do for you? Tnx, Rich
Easier landings and a lower stall speeds. On this particular plane you dont need them, it’s just cool to have really..
No reference to the specific servo and part number need to perform the task.
Where is the flap kit, fore sale
The kit comes with the plane in the hardware bag, just buy the servo.
How do you set up this plane on on ix 20 radio?
Nice plane but rubbish support from Hobbyzone
@@RuudyL 100% agree with that.
don't you need the elevator correction?
Where do we get the flap kit??
Any luck? I really need to know before I do this
It comes with the plane in the hardware bag, atleast mine did. You just have to buy the servo.
Can I unplug channel 6 for panic and use it for flaps?

Does this work on the Spektrum DXS transmitter?
Yes, plug it into channel 8
@@justinbogard6700 Just got a use dx6 really cheap. Does that work also? I can't figure it out
@@rctrucks2094 sorry for late reply but I couldn't get it to work on my dx6e so I wound up getting a dx8e.
