Toc Man in this remake looks a lot like Zazz's Moon Mech from _Sonic Lost Worlds._ While his design looks polished, his old PS1 design is terrifyingly intimidating, especially with the game over screen.

I was thinking the same thing. I would love a mod to change some of music back to the original versions, replace the cutscenes with the original, add the voices back, and maybe add Ms. Pac-Man back. Of course, I could just play the original, however, Re-Pac gets the fundamentals right.

I was more impressed by them taking ONE hit! I had to be rescued by *cough HER cough* during the final stage every time! And I had a ton of game overs too.
After seeing various complaints about the game and someone having a Hard Mode idea, I decided to make my own take. What if there was that, which has those boss changes below (Since there’s Easy Mode, that implies we only have normal aswell) Windbag: Ehh… I wouldn’t change much, aside from making it destroy cannons as its health lowers until there’s only one. After all, this is just the first boss. Anubis: Make the boss as hard as the original game :trolla: Cosmetic Change: Make the chase sequence before the fight as scary as the original, if not more. King Galaxian: Remove the triple shot powerup, decrease windup for attacks so it’s more difficult but not unfair. He also gets a new move: Tail Whip. Animation: One of his left and/or right eyes glow (even if destroyed) before he swings his tail in the direction of the eye that glowed. Easy to avoid, but makes the fight more interesting. Cosmetic Change: Make him bigger, I suppose. People are saying it’s like you’re fighting his little brother, so I figured this would be a nice change. Also give him the fangs he had in the og, too. Goofy Ahh Race (forgor the name): I guess have some obstacles that slow you down or make you slip around, I don’t know. Not much to change, really. Krome Keeper: I think make him more aggressive towards Pac-Man. I mean, he looks INFURIATED. Also make him attack more often i guess, idk. Make his music fitting for the situation, maybe like a death metal remix. Toc-Man: Since he’s the final boss, I suppose he could use more difficulty aswell so he feels more like one. Here’s the changes: Phase 1: Give him s everytime he gets hit for phase 1 so it doesn’t immediately end after you get close to him like 2-3 times. Also make him able to spit fireballs at you like he used to be able to do so. Plus, he could have the ability to slam the floor with a pellet much like the original, causing a shockwave that’s faster than phase 2’s normal mode. Not too much, but also only covers like 1/5th of the arena, since this is just the 1st phase, even if it’s Hard Mode. Phase 2: Make it so you can only hit him twice at a time, so he doesn’t go to phase 3 after you get the powerup 2-3 times and you use 3 or 2 abilities, but also so he doesn’t last like 3 minutes. Make him fall down faster, this is not only to make it more difficult but also to add gravity logic. Shockwave covers the entire arena (in terms of range) and is faster than phase 1’s pellet slam’s but not by much. We wouldn’t want phase 2 to be harder than 3. He also Butt Bounces more often, as another reference to the OG. Cannonballs should cover the entire arena, obviously with enough room to avoid getting brain damage by cannonballs. Phase 3: He should have 5 hitpoints rather than 3 Butt Bounces until the cutscene happens, also he can still use phase 2’s bounce ability, just not as often and the shockwave is thicker to where you should use the leg thingy to avoid it since he’s giant thanks to the power pellet. Plus: He also uses rev roll more often. Cosmetic Changes (goes for all phases) His legs and arms are yellow colored like Pac-Man and he gets a nose. Basically making him more similar to Pac, considering he copies his moves and powerups. All Phases: Replace the sad little skeletons with the ghosts that run around and/or chase you like the original fight. The skeletons were literally free pellets, something that doesn’t make sense in a final battle. That’s about it. If you’d like me to change up anything, like nerf, buff or add something else, etc.. Just tell me lol
i will cry if they make the fight against Clyde in world 2 easy . Clyde in the caldera has to be the hardest boss fight as a kid they cannot ruin that special memory for everyone that has played pac world 2 .

I never played the first Pac-Man World on PS1... but I do admit the voices did add to that game's personality. To confess, I don't mind the gibberish too much--Bandai Namco did a fine enough job remaking this game. And I do actually Toc-Man's visual re-design.
I won't lie, if they removed voices from the World 1 remake, they better do it for the rest to keep it even. Bias aside (because Toc is my fave, and Erwin shouldn't even exist, imo), it just wouldn't be right/fair to remove voice acting from W1 and then not do so for 2/3. Now, if they update W1 remake to suddenly have voices, then by all means, do that and then give the other two the same thing. But do NOT remove voices from one and then treat the others different! Or so help me, I will bring the wrath of Toc-Man myself!

World 3 obviously speaks for itself, so for this game I can mostly forgive the gibberish
The voice cuts were always a gripe I had with Re-Pac. I wished they brought back if not rerecorded lines from the original, plus Toc Man’s design seems iffy for me, I just never imagined Toc Man having a jetpack

Tbh. I was disappointed with THAT aspect of Re-Pac. I don't know why they changed the dialogue to unintelligible gibberish. Hopefully if 3 ever gets a remake they won't do the same to it's dialogue too because the comedic dialogue MADE that game.
Whoever had the bright idea to have unskippable cinematics every time someone gives you health, and between the different stages of the fight, can go straight to hell. The fight is annoying enough, but having to spend so much time just WAITING to do something makes it insufferable. Not to mention how hard it is to tell where you are in this game. It looks like you're right above him and you do your attack, and it completely misses. It was bad enough with jumps where you don't land where you look like you will. If I see my shadow on the platform, I expect to land ON the platform, not completely miss it. Same problem with this fight, everything looks fine but then you somehow completely miss.
whats up with modern games not understanding how gravity works? every single modern game has a character that just floats with disregard to gravity and natural landing arcs. zoomer devs dont know how jumping works?
I don't get how people can take the old Toc Man seriously. He looks so dopey and sounds like a cartoon villian. And not a good one. Like Dr. Draken from Kim Possible minus She-Go.
I think he has the same sort of appeal as a character like Wario, where he's a big exaggeration of a lot of the main character's features and likeliness but in a much "meaner" light. Pac-Man already is meant to be cartoony, but more in a cute way.

In my personal opinion if Toc-Man still had the sinisterly awesome voice in the PS1 version in this remake, the game would be near-perfect imo.

Saving the Pac-Family is not required in Re-Pac, and fighting Toc-Man with at least one unsaved member gives the original "Eat Orson" ending.

Hopefully if 3 ever gets a remake they won't do the same to it's dialogue too because the comedic dialogue MADE that game.
I’m guessing it’s a mix of A) a lot of the original VAs are dead and B) the Japanese Pac-Man fans don’t like him speaking actual dialogue
Whoever had the bright idea to have unskippable cinematics every time someone gives you health, and between the different stages of the fight, can go straight to hell. The fight is annoying enough, but having to spend so much time just WAITING to do something makes it insufferable.
Not to mention how hard it is to tell where you are in this game. It looks like you're right above him and you do your attack, and it completely misses. It was bad enough with jumps where you don't land where you look like you will. If I see my shadow on the platform, I expect to land ON the platform, not completely miss it. Same problem with this fight, everything looks fine but then you somehow completely miss.

I think he has the same sort of appeal as a character like Wario, where he's a big exaggeration of a lot of the main character's features and likeliness but in a much "meaner" light. Pac-Man already is meant to be cartoony, but more in a cute way.
