- Anabel Hernández lives in hiding. She has bodyguards. Death threats fill her inbox. Why? Because she’s a journalist who, over the past twenty plus years, has become known for exposing corruption in the Mexican government and the inner workings of the drug cartels. This work has earned Hernández the Golden Pen of Freedom award, recognition from UNICEF, and the French Legion of Honor, but it has also put her life in danger. Hernández joins Patrick Radden Keefe, who covers the cartels for The New Yorker, to discuss her work and her belief that the power of speaking out outweighs the safety of silence.

La admiro, ha hecho un gran trabajo de investigación, su inglés no es muy bueno, pero se da a entender perfectamente.
Si Fox sigue libre a pesar de todo, simplemente pienso que hay millones de dólares de por medio, así que todos los ex-presidentes (quizá el actual), jamás pisarán la cárcel, nuestro gobierno se nutre de impunidad y ahora hasta una ley de amnistía, una constitución que es prostituida cada sexenio a conveniencia de los mandatarios.
Un cártel con presencia en 70% a nivel mundial... Realmente no dimensionamos el poder que tiene el narco, ningún gobierno puede contra esto porque es una complicidad internacional.
Cierto su inglés ala mitad de la entrevista creo le empezó a olvidar, se cansa uno al traducir

Her opinion of AMLO is a bit vague and just that. First he is one of the few leaders that has welcomed criticism - but he does call out people who remained silent about corruption in the past. And if the old profile doesn’t work, I don’t see why an honest leader would be a better priest than President? Perhaps that different is what is needed - backed by, as Anabel suggests - purging of corrupt players. Respects to Anabel, what bravery!

Sî, afortunadamente para algunos de nosotros, que hablamos español fue relativamente fácil decifrar sus frases y oraciones. Pero creo que para los nativos del inglés que no hablan español el mensaje fue incompleto.

Yes, the biggest consumer is outside of Mexico, Mexicans don't have enough money for that large amount ... anyone who consumes a small tiny amount of drugs in the world is putting their hands in the blood of this narcotic industry most probably many people died directly or indirectly bc of this every gram of any narcotic production and distribution. Every time someone consumes a tiny small amount of drugs, surely someone is dying in Mexico or in any country in South America, we live this civil war every day in silence in Mexico. ... And the consumers continues pretending that they ignore the root cause of the problem.

The irony lies in the humans who oppose, twist, and suppress the truth itself. Yet, it has been declared to the Universe that no force can ultimately silence the truth. There will always be courageous individuals who stand against the evil forces that seek to corrupt what is inherently good, created by God. Thus, while a rock may not speak the truth on its own, if the Creator commands it, "the rocks will speak the truth!" Anabel's passion for seeking the truth in such a perilous environment, surrounded by dangerous individuals, speaks volumes about hope. It reminds us that there is someone greater than these threats watching over us, maintaining control over the corruption that has taken hold of humanity and preventing our complete self-destruction-for now. /1

Yo tambien la noto muy alterada. Vive en E.U. y eso tal vez es lo que provoca que incline su opinion hacia aquel lado del espectro. Cambio objetividad por conveniencias. Que lastima pues tenia una gran opinion de ella y lei sus tres ultimos libros, este que ha presentado ahora, no estoy tan segura de querer comprarlo. Para mi, perdio credibilidad.
