For those wondering about the “Walnut in Ravnica” issue, I have reviewed the paperwork on file at Acq Inc HQ and figured out what’s going on. The Acq Inc Timeline and the C Team timeline aren’t quite in sync. It took a lot of documancy from Omen, but when Acq Inc started branching out, he made a contract with a Time Elemental to partially temporally displace individuals at Omen’s request so that he can use Acq Inc employees as needed without interrupting their normal work. You don’t even want to know what the Time Elemental gets out of the deal...

Finesse and ranged for a sneak attack, honestly if he dual wielded Rapiers he'd be scary. Scratch the wizard and other classes, barb-pally-rogue dual wielding Rapiers would be powerful but stupid slow to level and would be a burden to the group.
@@seraphlord a warhammer only does 1d8 anyway, it's not unreasonable to flavor switch out the versatile property and replace it with finesse, which functionally makes it a blunt damage rapier anyway.
@@GreyAcumen Look... I know ultimately it makes close to 0 difference mechanically. It's just 1 extra average damage per hit, if you use it 2h for D10 which Pat probably did because he always aims to get every benefit he can... that's his thing... But if you use versatile you can't then replace it with finesse afterwards... I have no problems with rule of cool or home brew, I thought that moment was funny. But I literally stated the rules of sneak attack, What I said was 100% correct, Jerry was being kind... So please don't be an idiot and @ me with your opinion almost 2 YEARS after I made this comment and make me go back and figure out what the hell I watched a long time ago...
@@seraphlord - I didn't recall him using 2hands when I watched it just now. Just said warhammer and looked like it had a d8, but with all the other junk it's hard to keep track of what was smite damage and what was weapon damage.
What my point was saying that you could take a raper, say it does blunt damage and call it a 1 handed-warhammer that can do sneak attacks, and it would work quite well with a sword&board style without being unbalanced at all. (same as trading out versatile for finesse)

The C-Team series and its characters are always in an "at some point" state of time. So like this session/episode can possibly take place after (if) the main Acq Inc characters + Walnut get back to the Forgotten Realms, which will probably be at the next big Acq Inc PAX game.
Went to Ravnica? When/where did that happen?

I hope the new season has more stuff about the rest since they've released Mayleth. I love all the characters and I love Walnut but I feel like Walnut's become the central character.

I mean, donaar and rosie have spent most of the story actively hiding their backstories from the other characters, and there's only so often you can interject unfathomable eldritch abominations into your story. But yeah, Jerry does seem to enjoy building on the history of her people.
@@Dragonfire1321 Good point! Every time Jerry tries to get into Donaar's backstory, Ryan basically goes "bup bup bup, it's secret!", and Rosie keeps letting hers slip out and then squashing it. He hasn't had much else to work with. He pretty much mixes K'thriss and Walnut stuff together too.
But as a DM that's always the problem with secret back stories. They actually stop story telling more than they encourage it. And the reveal is tough to pull off too. They either get forgotten about because the player wants to wait to reveal them, so nobody talks about them, or they get revealed in some awkward way that doesn't land and they kind of whimper out like a deflating balloon. Or worse, the character dies before anything comes out. When they do land it can be really satisfying, but it doesn't happen often, and in the meantime other PC's get more plot spotlight.
Nah, Kate's non-stop efforts to dominate the table and control everything all the time makes up for any amount of "lean" the story takes towards a specific character...

Please take this as constructive criticism. I enjoy the story for the most part but those parts are...eh
K'thriss is aromantic/asexual, Donaar is a dragonborn which are rareish, and He's somewhat oblivious to romance. Rosie's basically pansexual so Jerry doesn't need to make an effort to put in Npcs to interest her. Walnut is really the only character who it makes sense for there to be npcs that are specifically interested in her although, I wish Jerry had at some point described Albi. We got a vivid initial description of Brahma but I can't visualise Albi at all.
Brian Barber for me its less romance and more story arc instead of four main characters its the Walnut show.
Brian Barber K’thriss becoming asexual is actually a somewhat recent development. Back in season 1 he banged one of Rosie’s kids(The one who stole from Rosie and lied about his brother being dead). Then Fen came around lookin for that Drow D and he suddenly decided he’s not into sex.
@@Im-Not-a-Dog Thing is with any of these players, they're fairly willing to act slightly outside their characters for the sake of humor, Kris especially. It was an entertaining bit. Likely it could be justified by K'thriss' on going willingness to experiment with new situations. He certainly didn't seem to be acting out of sexual desire in the instance you described.

Jerry, you are great and all but when you DM you act more like a player. Take a step back and enjoy what the players are talking about and react only during incidents. You try to control the narrative too much and don't spend the appropriate amount of time using descriptors to paint the picture for your players.

well now i understand why i didn't give the C-team a chance: the players are great, but i can't stand jerry as a DM. to be fair, he's up against people like chris perkins and jeremy crawford, but even mike was somewhat entertaining by messing with d&d (as he said in the battle royale session, d&d for him is like hamburger helper and he adds other shit). this session just ended up being all about his paladin OC (even when he's not there!), which is charming when he's a player, not so when he's the DM.
also, all the romance shit got old fast. kinda feel bad for amy on that front. even if she's cool with it, jerry just makes shit awkward.
It is only this campaign. It's too custom and too out there. He's lost in the story and detail he's trying to tell and joining in with the jokes. Ryan and Kris are hilarious and then they joined this and Amy and Kate seem to beat them down like dogs. They cower now. It's weird. In other campaigns Kris is funny and quick, in real life Ryan is super funny. C team is just WAAAY too into Amy and Kate. It's just not what you should do as a group or as a DM. Then Pat joins and they have even less time. I'm kinda sick or Rothfuss...Jesus he's just everywhere ...it's like Hugh Jackman...12 wolverine movies later you're sick of him.
To be fair, he has a pretty weak player base. Kate has always been useless, Ryan is clearly getting bored, Amy's romance stuff got old 3 months ago and Kris can't carry the table by himself.
Used to love this stuff, but it's starting to get really fucking stale.
Compared to the actual Acquisitions Inc session, this was just so dull. Kris tried so hard to make it fun, but the group just had no chemistry this time and Kate just has this innate ability to drag any table down into the depths of the unimaginative and unfunny. I really hope she gets too busy at WOtC to continue this show and they get someone else.
