Another video did this experiment with both sides completely sanded. I just tried it, and it worked some of the time. I think the wire vibration in the end loop can occur at a frequency which provides intermittent electrical contact. Even when it didn't spin and stayed still, you can feel the Lorentz force. You might want to try it.
Not perfect but simple (as you said). Appreciate your effort, thank you very much. I gonna look for leftovers to obtain a similar experiment. I also want to measure rpm with a tachometer that I simply use my cell phone as it. Actually, I have came here for anemometer which I would build mine.
You can use any kind of metal wire. It just has to have the enamel coating that insulates it, or you’re gonna have a short, and burn yourself. Motors, transformers, inductors, and those old TV or computer monitors have this wire on the deflection yokes, mounted over the color (blue red & green) ray guns.

Thank you this helps with a science project.

whats the size of your magnet wire?
try using thick wire
CAN i USE A IRON WIRE ???

can I use different batteries?
Yes - it should work with a C, or AA battery as well. Really, it depends on the voltage of your light bulb. I would stay away from the 9 volt battery.
@@rhettallain what happens if I use a 9V battery
Hi Sir! Can I use a regular copper wire???
yes you can
No, you need enameled copper wire.
Is it okay to use thick wire?
yes it is
How many volt shoud the battery have
Hello, is this wire made of copper?
it IS but make sure you are using MAGNET wire because copper wire and magnet wire are the same but function differently
Sir,If we use different battery .it will work or not??
It will work with another battery. The 9 volt battery won't work so well because the two terminals are on the top.
I followed what you said but mine won't spin :(
try a different battery
can i use ultra-thin wire from charger cables? this is the only available in my home.
No
Mans just murdered an ant on camera. guys say cheese we are in a documentary ( ̄_, ̄ )
may i ask will this not work with a normal magnet?
It works
“Don’t cut yourself, cutting is bad.”
Alright
Anyone else from k12 lmao
nice
thank you
Can I use copper wire?
Yes
Con cảm ơn
too many ants, hahahaha
:( good for you
Is Enameled Copper Wire Magnet Winding Wire 0.1mm Thickness 12m Length fine?
lmao
doesn't even work...
