He often used images of radios as a way of suggesting bulletins coming in from another dimension more generally.
It’s all about slipping into the groove - the artistic groove, the inspired groove, the special groove two people can sometimes find together. It’s the first song in the concert so it functions as a way to bring everybody into the same trancey, mystical, rocking groove.
And who’s the “she” the song seems addressed to and about? I think it’s a kind of female god - “you are everywhere you need to be.” Like so much of Van’s music, it’s a hymn to the Divine.

You’re a different person at the end of the song than you were at the beginning. It’s about Divine inspiration having transformational effects.
Beautiful. That’s a great concert generally. Van often wasn’t any good live - I saw him twice and he was awful both times. But occasionally he really had the magic.
