The last episode, the scenes where they say goodbye to Feeny and afterward he says "class dismissed," makes me cry every single time. Classic masterpiece of a sitcom show.
@Nobody Special515 I never said it made the last season better. That's a personal taste thing. All I said was that the actor was steering the character behind the scenes. after season 2, the studio/writers didn't want Eric to be the generic cool older brother that a ton of shows had. So they talked to Will and he suggested/improved in slap stick and the "dumb eric" moments. By S7, Will's script said "Eric does Feeny call" and then Will would improve the feeny call for X amount of time. Will was a big part in Eric's development in S3-7, in a way almost none of the other cast members had been with their own characters. In S6 when he was giving great advice, that was writers plotting out an episode. When Eric has a dumb moment/joke, it's a 75% of the time a Will improve. So yes, he gets just as much credit/blame as the writers do.
@Nobody Special515 It's a personal thing. S7 isn't rated noticably worse than 6. So its opinion, not fact. It's the same as Joey, even though lots of people claim to hate how dumb he got, the studio audience responded most to the dumb moments. Yes, Eric was the typical cool older brother in S1-2. His only character trait was liking girls. Will has mentioned this several times and how the director came to him for input on what he could do when they wanted to add more to the character. Will had input on Eric's development and each season he was more involved in who Eric turned into. Don't believe me, that's fine. It's been stated by Will several times on the Christy Carlson Podcast and interviews at cons. I'm repeating his own words , so yes. Will is just as repsonsible as the writers for who Eric turned into.

Will (aka Eric Matthews) because of your doubts on lack of experience in acting, you created a character that everyone knew in the 90s. A funny older brother!
Moving from Germany to America, this show was huge in my childhood.! Every time my siblings and I would go to my grandparents.. this show would just be on almost like it was fate..! Nostalgia at its finest. Man I miss my childhood.. and these types of shows.

I was born in ‘99 so I know that there are a lot of y’all who don’t think I have any right to be here and speak to the nostalgia felt by those of y’all who grew up in the 80s and 90s and watched this with knowledge and understanding. The thing I love about reruns and VHS players is that it gave me the opportunity to watch what my sister Alexys watched originally, in ‘05/‘06 as a kid who loved sitcoms like Will’s son does now. It’s shows like BMW and FPBA and others like it that showed me what friendship should look like and how relationships should be in general whether romantic or platonic or familial. It set a standard for me that I find myself living by. I used to use BMW to give relationship advice in middle school. I can’t tell you all how much you all have impacted my life and the size of the presence it had in my life while dealing with life. Even now at 24 i find myself quoting the show. I turned the Feeny call into the Dad call whenever I would call through the house for my step/bonus dad.
This is the greatest thing on TH-cam. I love that the three of you came together to create this Podcast. I am 38 years old now, a little younger but around your ages, and everything you talk about brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. “Boy Meets World” was television at it’s very best. All the actors were amazing and it’s so great to see that the three of you are still best friends. I cannot thank you enough for making this Podcast. You put so much love into it and I know that fans will appreciate watching this so many years later. It’s like “Boy Meets World” is still alive because for me it was always alive in my memories. Keep creating these Podcasts and keep being the great people that you three are.
Boy meets world was some of the very best of my childhood. There's only two shows I will repeatedly go through and finish throughout the years. One of them being Boy meets world. I'm so so so happy this showed up in my recommendation. Cant express how much joy this is giving me. ❤️❤️

It's nice not hearing the same, "we are going to Iheartland", Soviet Elvis, astrology, Nick Cage comic books, and "where were you in 92?" ads repeated every 10-15 minutes, lol.
I never realized how much this show impacted my life growing up. Being an 80s baby, 90s kid, I watched Wonder Years however, felt more connected to this story and their friendships/relationships. Thank you for sharing these podcasts!❤

Rewatching this show recently and I had the same thought with the beginning. The pilot felt like an episode for a sitcom that had already been running for years
I think Mr. Feeny getting stood up by his sister and not a date was a reflection of what Corey was going through with Eric. It also showed that there is more than one type of love that could potentially hurt you, both for Mr. Feeny with his sister (who we thought at first was a date) and with Eric and Corey/Eric with his date. Love hurts, but it is always worth the pain.
I kinda popped hard for the Counting Crows mention. August and everything after was great. 1993 was a great year. Rider Strong, the rest of the cast, and Adam Duritz, all part of what made the 90's great. Gotta say the 90s were the best years of my life. I'd give anything to relive 1993 to 2002 all over again.
I grew up watching the show & it comes with so many good memories and I didn't get many of them growing up. However it became a double down when my son was introduced to BMW and loved it from episode 1nand he watched it through and wanted to watch it with me. So it can be timeless and generational. Ty to everyone involved to make the show what it became.
I was 13 when the show first aired, and I never missed an episode all the way to the end. It was the first show of my life where the stars were the same age as me. Although a bit farfetched at times, the plots were so relatable to me, and to this day, it's one of my all-time favorite shows. I have re-watched the series several times in the last few years, and it just never gets old for me. I tear up at so many episodes, not just because of the content, but because of the innocence lost since the show was on; of times past and the things I lived through with Boy Meets World. And having watched it all through again as an adult, I can honestly and easily say that George Feeny is the greatest character ever written into a television show! The compassion, love, and dignity Feeny gives to all those around him will never be seen again on American TV.
So I started listening to this podcast when they started the second season. I'm instantly hooked. Going to play catch up watching the first season episodes. What I love, which is a detriment to how many times I watched the reruns and when they initially aired, is that I don't need to rewatch the episode as they break it down. I can mentally visualize each episode.
Eric isn't the worst. In the first couple of seasons he's basically the most realistic portrayal of a teenage boy I've ever seen.
Yeah then he becomes a completely incompetent drool machine

Much love. My childhood was y’all and so many more shows from the 90s. I’m glad to see y’all again.
I love the Counting Cars!
Likewise those are the exact years I would choose to go back to as well!!!! (93-02)!!!!!!!

I love this podcast thnak guys for that opportunity to go back at the show
I grew up watching the show & it comes with so many good memories and I didn't get many of them growing up. However it became a double down when my son was introduced to BMW and loved it from episode 1nand he watched it through and wanted to watch it with me. So it can be timeless and generational. Ty to everyone involved to make the show what it became.
Amazing 🔥🔥🔥 the chemistry is still there
I was 13 when the show first aired, and I never missed an episode all the way to the end.
