Girls Frontline were first. Arknight got heavilly inspired (it was made by people worked on GF) and Nikke then just rode on the trend (which is not bad thing mind you and I think without Nikke there would be much less feet in GF2). On unrelated note, I am sure that Klukai, decided rock that motorcycle just to copy her "rival".
Nikke was inspired by the original GFL1 and Arknights literally is made by GFL1 team, since during their work on GFL1 team split and part of it still works on the both GFL 1 and 2, and other part became Arknights dev team.
Suomi kp entered production a whole decade before the ppsh. Neither is a copy of each other strickly. The soviets did copy the drum mags of the suomi for their ppsh pretty much though.
Im glad people are seeing this sries more. I think its really a missed gem and has been for years. The series actually started with a game called Codename: Bakery Girl, being Micas first full release. It actually takes place 30 years after Girls Frontline 1. So GFL1 is technically a prequel. Anyways that game recently got a really good remake and rerelease that actually isnt a gacha game, its a turn based strategy game similar to Girls Frontline 2 called Reverse Collapse: Codename Bakery, definetly worth a shot to see some of the world cause its a full game not a live service gacha game. Next we got Girls Frontline 1. The "main" ish game. Girls Frontline one is a gacha kind of strategy map/mixed with auto battler, that actually gets quite in depth with some of its advanced mechanics and xpansive roster of characters, i believe there is 400+ Characters currently in GFL1 and its still kind of ongoing, CN is reaching the last event but Global is quite a bit behind. Basics on the lore for a little more of the world is this is alt history, I dont know the exact order of events but prior to GFL1, Ancient Relics were discovered with power, a cataclysmic event happened causing the "collapse" stuff you see here, its a spreading radiation that can turn living creatures into monsters. Skip to GFL1. You are a new commander fresh out of training for a PMC called Griffin and Kryuger, there is a lot of deeper lore on the PMC and its purpose but effectivaly at the start of the game, you command Dolls aka the girls seen here. Under G&K the dolls took on the names of their imprinted weapons, M4A1, ST AR15, AN94, etc. These dolls are essentially robots with something called a Neural Cloud, aka an AI memory and personality system, almost all the dolls tend to have their own personalities but most of them domt have high level neural clouds and are pretty much just made to follow orders. I think most of the ones surviving do typically end up with better Neural Clouds, anyways most of the Dolls control multiple copies of their body, they mainly are the one and use the rest as dummies fro increased firepower but pretty much in most cases if they make a backup of the Neural Cloud they can be brought back in any doll frame supporting them. Lots of details on dolls since they are pretty much the main part of the gameplay. ELIDs are the living creatures affected by the collapse radiation and are the monsters and zombie like creatures seen. Sbow is dangerous cause the collapse radiation often travels with the snow. There is plenty of dolls non G&K as they were originally household dolls used for all number of tasks before tests for military use. Another notable group of them and the first major antagonist of the first GFL is Sangvis Ferri, a lot of their tech is still seen in GFL2, the Dinergate Dog bots and some of the mech/robots. There is another group I dont know if they are part of the second game but the Nytos are another group made in an attempt clone someone I beleieve. They are quite strong and well above humans and often dolls. Thats some basic lore, but to set up GFL2, it seems to take place 10 years after GFL1, and lots of the dolls are returning such as Mosin Nagant, Nagant, UMP9 as Lenna, Ots-14 as Groza, G28 as Belka, UMP45 as Leia, MP7 as Cheeta, etc. As well as some new characters such as Nemesis, Krolik, Colphne, Vepley, Sharkry, Adnoris, Ullrid etc. The commander after being used as a pawn broke off from their past 10 years ago saying goodbye to pretty much everyone they new, eventually they became a Bounty Hunter and at some point had stumbled across a damaged Groza who had no recollection of what happened, having been old friends as Groza was a doll that served under the commander, they worked together, found Nemesis and Krolik and found a human mechanic named Mayling, Mayling being the replacement for Kalin that Orange haired girl that kept having guns pointed at her as Kalina was the mechanic and served under the commander in GFL1. They hadnt spoken in 10 years. Also there is then Project Neural Cloud, i think it got retitled to just Neural Cloud but its a spin off game from GFL1 including some of GFL1s characters and some new characters taking place in some form of digital world, i dont believe the GFL1 dolls know they are stuck in that digital world or if they are just backups of the characters but I dont believe they have any memory of the outside world. Anyways its an auto battler gacha game too. I dont know the full story to the game as its been a while, and its still an ongoing service game right now too. But anyways some of the early concepts became Arknights characters like W while the GFL version of W I believe became M4 Sopmod II but I cant be certain of that, they both have light hair and the red strip and were made quite early on in the games. Thats a lot of lore to look into and the world is quite complex and dark with lots of split factions and secret plots, its a lot when actually dived into but also really good. This game doesnt really require the first games lore to understand but it definitely helps especially when the commander runs into familiar faces such as Lenna, Leia, Kalina and many more.
For previous game recap, no need to play or watch iceberg video about it, but I REALLY recommend you the GFL madness and healing chapter. It's an official shitpost mini-series.
The Daiyan "controversy" was even dumber than what chat explained. She was never married, just a travelling guzheng player after GFL1, she literally only talked to a guy who was about to go postal on his workplace and convinced him to not do that. Then he gave her some family heirloom as thanks that she promptly gave to the Commander to sell for some quick cash after reuniting since she really does not care about the guy on a personal level. The whole storyline got retconned/rewritten out, and she now has that lightning pendant on her wrist which is funny since the NPC guy's name was written with the same Chinese character for "lightning" or some such. It was a complete nontroversy over a very popular Chinese-rifle-based character speaking to someone besides the player.

gfl1 still exist i think on cn, global prob closed month ago) also you may try watch some gfl1 PVs for more context about game world) after playing few chapters of gfl2 story i think in 2nd part look more like adventure, when in gfl1 story prety dark... also there exist anime girls frontline, but some fans think about it as failure, i think its ok. there also exist short chibi anime series about gfl too wich on my opinion prety nice

The directors of the to games are friends and literally got permission for Nikke mode in person from the man himself

It's CN server closed for GFL 1, not the global.
CN server has got issue with the licensing, they will reopen it or already has.
