Quality team, Aimar was a magician, the new Maradona tag is always an impossible burden and he was a brilliant player in his own right
Aimar in 5-a-side would be insane! Aimar and Ortega-you'd never get the ball! So many Argentinians in that period that didn't live up to their abilities, great talents. I lived in Valencia in 2001 to 2002, watched a lot of games at the Mestalla at that time with Baraja, Mendieta, Aimar, Ayala, Cañizares and even Carew was great for them then. One of the best teams in Europe at the time. If you're a football fan, you have to visit the Mestalla for a big game. Strange and great stadium, skip the Camp Nou and Bernabéu and go to Levante v Valencia. Great football city.

I'm a Benfica supporter and hes the best player i've seen in my team since i watch football, he was amazing. He had some problems with injuries in Spain and when he came to Benfica he managed to get better fisically, in hes second season Saviola joined from Real Madrid and those two destroyed every team in Portugal like they did in Argentina in the early days, it was a great time for the club and to all the fans to have the possibility of enjoying those two playing together again. Pablo Aimar is also Lionel Messi's idol and Maradona himself said that Aimar is the only player he would pay a ticket to watch.
valencia had a proper team back then, ruben baraja, david albelda and gaizka mendieta, vicente and joaquin!

joaquin came late. by the time joaquin got there most of those other guys had either left or past their prime. replace joauin with aimar, that was the proper valencia team
