Grimme Ventor vs. Varitron | Potato harvest 2020 | Fendt 1050 & 936 S4 | Mencke Landbouw

- Potato harvest 2020 has kicked off. We follow the impressive team from Dutch arable farm Mencke Landbouw. This year their Grimme Varitron 470 is joined by a brand new Grimme Ventor 4150. Two combinations have to keep up with the appetite of these machines. A Fendt 1050 Vario with Beco Super 2600 3-axle trailer and Fendt 936 Vario S4 with Joskin 3-axle trailer. The potatoes are cleaned using a Grimme Clean-Loader and then loaded in awaiting lorries.

We are not at this scale yet... still only at urban backyard/ front yard gardening. Still very enjoyable to watch and learn from the potato experts!
Grimme is a world leader in Potato Harvesting and Planting, this yoke is unreal as it doesn't conpact the ground much..

Holy heck those GRIMMEs are SO big!! Mental harvester! And I like those Beco trailers, you only see the lower tippers ones over here for earth moving, expensive trailers too!

The potato 🥔 harvester is very interesting 🤔 machine and I completely understand why there crab 🦀 down the field during the harvesting process .
Why do they have such big tractors?
I suppose they don't really need more than 240 horsepower for those tipping trailers do they?
Those tractors are also used for tillage jobs and other heavy hp jobs. If you look at my spring planting video you can see them doing other tasks.

Fantastic Video and amazing kit, just curious to why only some equipment over there has yellow plates like shown here but for example the Fendt 942 in Franzen’s second video has a white plate on it. Is this due to working very infrequently on public roads?
Until now only border crossing agricultural traffic needs to have a number plate. This farm also farms land in Germany so they need to have 2 plates with a GV (border traffic) number. Franzen is in the Southwest and doesn't cross borders so they can do without a plate. The white plates you saw are just nicknames for the tractors. There is a law coming into force that all agricultural vehicles need to carry a number plate but so far nothing.

Kenne ze niet gwn bredere rooier maken? Ze maken wel elke x grotere bunkers maar ze blijven allemaal onder de 3m
Problemen zijn het gewicht en transport op de weg
Dat kan en Ploeger bouwt bijv. ook een 6-rijïge rooimachine maar het nadeel is dat deze niet in Nederland over de weg mogen.
Mooie video ik maak ook trekker video’s ik zou het waarderen als je ook een kijkje neemt
