Almost 10 years later and this is still one of the best sounding pop punk songs ever made. The recording sounds incredible and the songwriting still holds up.

Andrew Fullagar IMO, the Man O album from 2013 was waaaaaaaay better. TSSF's was about equal and idk if TWY can top The Greatest Generation. Other than that, both years are great in their own ways
tjisatotalsellout i agree with everything you said. i think TSSF first album is the best album from modern pop punk bands, dont think anyone has top that yet
tjisatotalsellout I actually think the opposite. I think heavy love > heart attack and what you dont see > the story so far. just goes to show u all 4 albums are sweet
I really dig this. It's a fun song, and I think a lot of modern pop punk needs more stuff like this. Not totally blown away but still, good song. I'll be checking out the album.
I can't get enough of this song. Just wish I could enjoy this music with other people in my school. Being a kid who listens to pop punk and wants to form a pop punk band in Alabama isn't an easy thing.
This probably isn't relevant but being who I am and coming from where I come from being into any type of rock music (such as punk rock, pop rock, pop punk, alternative etc) isn't really a huge thing. I'm from a very small town in Alabama and most people in my town listen to either country or hip hop (white people and black people). So growing up listening to bands I always stood out and people never really understood me and people also looked at me funny because not only was I into rock bands but I was a black girl who liked rock bands which where I'm from I guess isn't something people see often. I was picked on by some of my family. They would say things like I was trying to be white because I loved rock music which is ridiculous because no genre of music is for a specific race and gender. Some white kids would be shocked like they never seen a black person who was into rock music before..now that I'm older but sill very young (20) I don't really care much about what people think. I like what I like. My point is bands have helped me through a lot and despite what people think of me will always love them and rock music.
cheri618 i feel you. i'm a non-white guy either so i'm expected to listen to hip-hop only. but this is my favorite type of music. although i never say i like rock music. i just go into specifics, so post-hardcore, pop punk, punk, etc.
(I'm also from a small town in Alabama so I had to post cx) You shouldn't let people try to bring you down or make you feel bad for the music and things you like. People at my school and even most of my friends think I'm weird because I'm into different music and clothing than they are. I don't really care what they think because I love my music and I love the way I dress c:
cheri618 Well, I'm a white, 20 something year old, city boy... you know, the stereotypical "pop-punk kid". Except, I'm from Mexico, which means that I´ll probably never meet someone who even knows what Warped Tour is. So don't feel bad, you're not alone in your misery.
I know I’m late on this song, but I grew up in the golden days of pop punk (new found glory, the starting line, mxpx, blink 182, etc....) and I gotta say as an older dude, it brightens my heart to know that there kids carrying on this style of music. And this would’ve got in perfect back in the day. Such a catchy tune and the rest of this album is just as great. I love this!
Love this song. Reminds me of the pop punk/skate punk that was out in my era. Im 31 and still listen to pop punk everyday. Keeps me feeling youthful! ;)
I grew up loving Blink 182 and all the great pop punk of the early 2000s. I had NO idea great pop punk was still being made, until today. This is like the best day of my life
This song made me, a 28 year old pop punk head from the early 2000's, fall back in love with the genre. Solid production. This song has a fun, yet mature sound.
This is not my type of music. It's too pop-y. It's too catchy. It's a little young for me (I'm 50). It's not hard enough. But... I took my kids (they're 7 and 11) to see these guys in Atlanta at the Masquerade this past week. Blown away would be accurate to say how I felt about the performance these guys put on. Grateful would be a great word to describe how I feel about the graciousness and generosity of these guys, who allowed us side stage so the kids could see better, and interacted with both of my little guys during the show and came down and chatted them up after they were done. So the moral to this story is this: If you're withing five hours of these guys and can make it happen; do it. You will NOT regret it. 10/10 show. Sound was great, the light show was amazing, vocals were near-perfect, the energy coming from the stage was palpable, and the crowd ate it up with a spoon. No wonder they call themselves State Champs. So. Much. Win.
My dad taught the rythm guitarist (Tyler) how to play bass when he was 14 and the lead singers mom was my aunts friend in high school. It's crazy how popular they got
So many amazing pop punk albums coming out this year. Holy shit.

This kind of music is nowhere near punk rock.
Also I agree that the "pop" part is misleading for some kind of bands in this genre.
thenaturallyinsane1 The pop is in reference to the catchy choruses that were synonymous with Pop long before it was with Punk.
Hearing this 7 years later still slaps
8 now I remember when it was released one of the most underrated bands of our time
You caught me in the right place
At the right time, so I'll just dive right in
Say you've got a blank space in your right mind
Well, here's my second wind
Oh, your idea of me blown away, away
Something in the past tense
Didn't make sense for this to follow through
What did you expect to happen?
Were you mad then with nothing left to do?
Oh, you're making me sick, what is this?
Had we been drawn to close before?
'Cause I dropped my forgiveness
It's lying face-down on the floor
I've got more secrets than you'll ever know
Another year and you won't let it go
Too many times I told myself to hold on
But it's too late for me, now I'm as good as gone
Funny how we go way back and we said that
We wouldn't let this come between
Everything and is it true that I could look past
Memories and stay obscene?
Oh, your idea of me blown away, away
Something's telling me I never
Could have ruined everything you want in life
'Cause you never put in the effort, and the truth is
You were never doing it right
Oh, you're making me sick, what is this?
Am I the one you can't ignore?
'Cause I dropped my forgiveness
It's lying face down on the floor
I've got more secrets than you'll ever know
Another year and you won't let it go
Too many times I told myself to hold on
But it's too late for me, now I'm as good as gone
It turns out I don't go down that easily
You'll never really know what this means to me
And no, it wasn't ever too much to hold
But you stole your own self-control
It turns out I don't go down that easily
You'll never really know what this means to me
And no, it wasn't ever too much to hold so just know
It turns out I don't go down that easily
You'll never really know what this means to me
And no, it wasn't ever too much to hold
But you stole your own self-control
It turns out I don't go down that easily
You'll never really know what this means to me
And no, it wasn't ever too much to hold so just know
(Stole you're own self-control, you stole your own self-control)
I've got more secrets than you'll ever know
Another year and you won't let it go
Too many times I told myself to hold on
But it's too late for me, now I'm as good as gone
Not everybody wants an enemy
Call me the culprit and that's all you'll see
You were responsible for finding a way to catch on
But it's too late for me, now I'm as good as gone
I wasn't prepared for this awesomeness

Nah counterparts or forced order for album of the year
