I just took Business Administration courses this year, and I have come to the conclusion that anything that is being taught there can be learned online. Discipline is definitely vital in self-learning, and if one has that, I would say there is no need to take an expensive course.
I really like your videos because they seem actually honest which is rare in most of the content these days because everybody is trying to optimize for the algorithm. I hope you can continue to do that but I definitely understand if it impacts your viewership fingers crossed! Best, KP
I got conned in to starting a business I had no idea about and didn’t have the finances for. It was during Covid when I wanted to learn about real estate investing and the slick snake oil salesman made everyone think you can start a real estate wholesaling company without using your own money. I ended up failing in that business and wasted a lot of money in the process. I really wish I had this video then. I love this advice.
I am in my 50s, been an executive for 20 years and was laid off 9 months ago. Now I am working on reinventing myself. This is a really tough job market. Really appreciate your content. Thank you!
Please make more videos about skill stacking as a future business owner. I am 31 years old now, and I suffered earlier in my career because I was impatient and felt like I wanted everything right away. I beat myself up for not starting that sexy new startup while I didn’t have any actual skills or experiences to leverage. Now, I’m in a role that allows me to learn the nuts and bolts of finance/accounting because I have an actual outlet for my passive knowledge. In the long-run, I am putting myself in a position to do something interesting (build a business). I feel like taking your time to learn on the job is the right approach for most people wanting to be future entrepreneurs and I try to remind myself of this frequently. The only thing I’d add is “planned serendipity” to increase your luck.
It's amazing to watch that all the job I've done trying to sell and oratory, was a good investment on my 20. Now I'm 30 looking to do something related to Data Science as freelancer.
Humor doesn’t hurt anything but please don’t become a joke channel. I greatly appreciate how pragmatic, to-the-point, & no-bs your videos are. Kudos for that!
I studied engineering and business in undergrad, currently doing doctoral studies in chemistry. Told myself I'd go startup if I can find a lucrative solution to a problem during my PhD. For business tools and classes, I recommend Professor Aswath Damodaran. He's a professor at NYU's Stern School of Business. He puts all of his lectures on TH-cam.
I started a business in my 50’s. Up until then i got all necessary qualifications and experienced the corporate world. You have to learn from established business before doing it alone. In my 50’s I then had experience, a strong network and deep understanding of the market. Up until I didn’t know where the gaps in the market where.
Totally agree. The problem I see a lot of is people thinking they need to start a business now or they'll miss out. That's rarely the case, except when there is a new innovation to capitalize on. And even then, MOST new businesses will still fail.... even more likely if the founders don't have a solid business background.
I started a shirt printing business and it was rolling, but i lost my passion quickly. Then i started a junk hauling business. It was going well, but my truck to a hit and Angi was ruthless. If i answered the call i had to take it. There i was picking up dog poop an hour away because i took the call.
Hey Mr. Lee, I've grown quite interested in your content; however, I would like to do more research into your background. Are there any areas that I can acquire more information on your track record from independent sources?
It can be heard to be patient and focus on learning and growing skills when we're young because we so often want to get going NOW rather than hold off a little longer.
Hey Will, I’m 18 years old and am starting college in the fall with a major in business. I’m still trying to decide between a marketing concentration or finance concentration, and was wondering if you had any advice on which would be more useful for future entrepreneurship.
I’m 12 and I own several digital media companies, a gas station chain in New Mexico, and a Chilean cricket team. I bought my first bank when I was 8. I came to your channel looking for good Etsy side hustle ideas to supplement my income a little bit while I’m out prospecting oil fields but I don’t think I’ll be coming back after this ageist tirade.
Dude really said "get rich in your 20s" i started a business when i was 26 and only now ive realized my business is shit and I may quit or see if i can fix it in the next 2 years. Im 32 now lol so much wasted time. 😂
Funny, I thought about that! I think people over 30, generally speaking, have had a chance to learn more already and are probably less impulsive, so it made sense to me to give this advice to the younger crowd.
Man, i wish mark zuckerberg took your advice when he was younger, he'd be so rich by now. Dont start a business before stufying the market your going into- agreed. If there is buzz around a certain industry, your sittingon limited time bfore a bust happens. Starting a business is allot about time. Its clear what the older generation wants (unmotivated and mediocre) people want is for me to becme dependent on a paycheck from a company that can fire me any second. Pets put it this way, if you have to try to convince someone to not start a business out of fear of it becoming a sucess, your already in a losing battle. Thus, im not even mad at you, its actually somewhat kinda sad.
How many Mark Zuckerbergs are there in the world? 1. Your argument is like saying that a solid investment plan is to buy a lottery ticket. The only problem with that plan is that only 1 person wins the lottery and everyone else ends off poorer for trying. A far better plan is to actually learn about how business works before trying to start a business. I'm not even mad at you. But it's kinda sad you think you might be the next Zuckerberg and the world needs you now. Good luck with that.
Just saying if you got hair implants for 3k, contacts and a fashion makeover I bet you'd be a 10/10 stud. Already have the confidence and presence. Honestly the look doesn't seem to match the energy. Would be cool to see the makeover!

Yo, if that is an affiliate link you should inform it. I don't want you to break TH-cam guidelines 💕
Ohh yah like the old say "Go work at The corner store first"
In a world filled with fake people, it's nice to see a knowledgable guy with moral and ethics.
Thanks, much appreciated!

Agree, he's one of the leaders. He's particularly well known for his work on valuing businesses.

I appreciate that! Thank you
For someone selling a $300 course on youtube growth, I sure would expect this video to have more than 17k views after a year.
Awesome value packed, Video, William. Great insights.
Glad it was helpful!

Well I wasted my 20s doing stupid stuff. I wished I would have come across this video when I was younger.

Hey Will, I’m 18 years old and am starting college in the fall with a major in business. I’m still trying to decide between a marketing concentration or finance concentration, and was wondering if you had any advice on which would be more useful for future entrepreneurship.
Probably Marketing, for a bunch of reasons. You could always major in one and minor in the other, or if you're bold do a double major!
@@TheBestWill thanks!
That's exactly what i need, GREAT Video from you sir , i really appreciate the knowledge.
Thanks!
Yup. Awesome. Funny is good!
Thank you for the video

I'm sorry it didn't work out, but I hope you learned a lot and it will serve you well in the next thing you do!
How do you think a vacuum selling business would do
Depends on where you live. In the U.S., vacuums are easy to buy in stores and on Amazon, so probably not great here. Vacuum repair might do okay.
Are you having a good day?
I'll even comment bc you got a cool name
Hey, so do you! Thanks!
This vidoe is gteat. I kearned a lot already.
So What about people over 30, are we doomed 😂😂😂?
Funny, I thought about that! I think people over 30, generally speaking, have had a chance to learn more already and are probably less impulsive, so it made sense to me to give this advice to the younger crowd.
AI is forcing people into this direction. Everyone will be a business.
