I believe the final boss of sonic 3 you are thinking of is Big Arms which is basically just the Egg Mobile with extra armor and big fists. Very similar to Aquatic Ruin’s Egg Hammer so I can see how one could confuse them especially if it’s been a while. Great review!

However, it does has a lot more purposes in AoStH. As far as bosses go, we have 3 bosses and two Eggmobile forms, both from Sonic 1 and 2. The Sonic 1 Eggmobile has only one attachment from Green Hill Zone, while Sonic 2's Eggmobile has extra features, and includes boss forms from Aquatic Ruin and Mystic Cave. The Sonic 2 Eggmobile also has a helicopter mode, which is part of the set, but not part of the two bosses, it's actually an introductory piece meant for the Drill Mobile in Emerald Hill.
You asked us how we say Eggmobile. A lot of us say "Egg-mo-bee-al" but some groups, with different accents and such, will actually say it as "Egg-mo-bi-al." I like the 16-bit classic figure too.

It’s a lot bigger than I expected too, and all the extra parts that give it some of the boss fight functions from the first 3 Sonic games are amazing! It would be cool if they ever released an ultimate version that has addons for ALL the games like the casino night boss or the bosses from Sonic CD! Also my favorite config for this ship is to put the thrusters and the headlight piece on it, as well as the back over and armor plate on top of it, and then put the third flame piece on the connector on the back. If you turn the trustees so their flames aim backwards, it’s the closest thing you can get to a model of eggmans ship from the first Sonic movie!
The helicopter design isn’t meant for combat in the games it’s just the sonic 2 egg mobile it would attach to a car like machine and the helicopter blades would in game be able to go into the back portion of the egg mobile and would sprout back out after being defeated

The lamp at the front of it is very similar to the beam in the sonic 2 metropolis boss so maybe it can fire a beam
