Last Day of Arriva Midlands at Burton On Trent - August 2016

- The last day of Arriva Midlands operations in Burton On Trent on Saturday 27th August 2015. Derby depot will continue to run the X38 with Trent Barton. Midland Classic will continue and take over the rest of the Arriva routes operated by Burton depot on Wetmore Road. Note the brand new 66 plate Optare Metrocity with Midland Classic.

I saw some of Arriva buses with these number plates as Arriva in Guildford (Surrey) to replace some of their original buses that retired
Midland Classic now took over majority of services only a handful operated by Arriva from Derby like X38 and Coalville. Maybe the independents are making a comeback.
You say that, but on a completly side note, I think Midland classic have been, or are being sold to Trent Barton now. Was some dodgy stuff going on in that company

Great video . And that happened with Arriva Midlands? because it ceases to provide services? what is the reason ? . It was a company with a cute color is certainly a shame to stop providing services but good towards improving service is welcome.

Eh 5.12, pretty sure that's me driving at that point. A shame Arriva left Burton. the 9's moved to Coalville and the X38 Derby as you said. Lot of the Burton Drivers are with us now

Wolfiee_ also some of those areas where the big bus companies are providing good services are probably the large metro cities, because maybe the local authority are working with bus companies to improve services. Whereas in rural areas its a different story, services get cut or run only once an hour Monday-Saturday's giving people in rural areas very limited options meaning the company doesn't make money due to deregulation thus resulting pulling out of the area. Note all the big bus companies; Stagecoach, First, Arriva and Go Ahead operate in City and Rural areas. Meaning some of their operating companies is good whereas others is terrible, sorry this was long. But long story short, Arriva is not the only one in this situation
