I am a raised Canadian Reformer. I have not been to church in a couple years. The church(evangelical) I did attend in my community, I attended for the welcoming people there. First, the restrictions made me understand that the church would put earthly authority over God. The catechistic differences in my beliefs and the church had bothered me for a long time, but I thought that their earnestness was more important than their errors. I ended up leaving mid service and never going back when, one Sunday, it became more heretical than I could handle. I cannot find a church of true believers rather than churches of self aggrandizement and self soothing. The church has been almost completely infiltrated. Even the Lutheran church minister I questioned replied to me that there were 'flavours' of Christianity and maybe the other church was not for me. How could any man who has been convicted and redeemed say any such thing? I want you to know that I appreciate a real teaching message and that I cannot even talk to my father about what I think about Israel and the holocaust because my parents were children in The Netherlands during occupation and they are to old to upset. The last ten years, every new realization has been an internal battle with a lifetime of 'knowledge'. I am less and less able to abide lies. I am a raised Canadian Reformer. I have not been to church in a couple years. The church(evangelical) I did attend in my community, I attended for the welcoming people there. First, the restrictions made me understand that the church would put earthly authority over God. The catechistic differences in my beliefs and the church had bothered me for a long time, but I thought that their earnestness was more important than their errors. I ended up leaving mid service and never going back when, one Sunday, it became more heretical than I could handle. I cannot find a church of true believers rather than churches of self aggrandizement and self soothing. The church has been almost completely infiltrated. Even the Lutheran church minister I questioned replied to me that there were 'flavours' of Christianity and maybe the other church was not for me. How could any man who has been convicted and redeemed say any such thing?
I want you to know that I appreciate a real teaching message and that I cannot even talk to my father about what I think about Israel and the holocaust because my parents were children in The Netherlands during occupation and they are to old to upset. The last ten years, every new realization has been an internal battle with a lifetime of 'knowledge'. I am less and less able to abide lies.
