AND RUN IT IN A TOWN THAT HAVE STREET AND RR RIGHT OF WAY TOGETHER !!
THEN AT NIGHT WHEN THE BARS ARE CLOSING AND THE DRUNKS ARE DRIVING, FOLLOW THEM WHEREVER THEY GO, HANGING CLOSE TO THEIR BACK BUMPER!ANOTHER THING FUN TO DO IS CREEP UP BEHIND SOMEONE SITTING AT A GRADE CROSSING, WAITING FOR THE TRACKS TO CLEAR!
LOL THIS WOULD BE BETTER THAN PINK ELEPHANTS AS A VISUAL STUNT!!! LOLOL
That is a great ride. On the other end of the options, you could get the rail wheels to allow it to drive up on the track and run on the rails like work vehicles. That would be awesome to use on a private rail line.

Imagine seeing that driving on the road
Nice ride. I live near the Volo Auto Museum in Volo Illinois and I'll have to get out there next spring because they got the street train locomotive from the movie Inception late last year..

Thanks! I have plans to make another video with my grandfather on the building of it. He made a scrapbook at the time of construction that I’ve converted to a PowerPoint so we can go over it together for the video along with whatever he can remember. However, scheduling a time that works for both of us has proven to be challenging.

It’s been in countless parades! We’ve wanted to take it to a few shows, but it’s a little challenging to get it from place to place 😅

Like to see it on the highway, bet that would freak people out.
It’s certainly entertaining to see the faces of people as we pass by. Haven’t done the highway in a few years, but it’s pretty fun.
This would be a huge hit at the campground.

Have one question. Can it pull a trailer?
@@darthgonk5648 It probably could. We’d have to put a hitch on it, which it does have an attachment for, but it’s be interesting to see how that would work. I’ve been trying to get him to build something to go behind it for parades, but I think we’d have to reposition the trailer hitch attachment location as it’s a little high. I got him a knuckle coupling trailer hitch cover though to add a little more realism 😂

I’d push for a caboose as well. I’d push for an extended vision one with seats up in the cupola like in a real one. With speakers hidden on either side pumping out sounds like a life sized rail sounds car.

Darned if it doesnt look and sounds real! It only needs couplers to finish off the details, and VOILA! Pick up your girl and go for a whirl on Saturday night. Bet you would get some strange looks if its street legal!🤔🚂👍👍❗
It actually DOES have a trailer hitch that I bought a knuckle coupler shaped cover for. 😂 It IS street legal. It doesn’t come out often. Usually for events or parades.
@@southerneaglelines if you are still in school, you should get permission to drive it to school occasionally, that would surely turn a few heads, seeing a diesel locomotive in a school parking lot.

I don’t think there were any official “plans”. I think a lot of it was just a case of “play with it until it works” 😂

Would be be able to add a bell onto it?
It is possible, we’d just need to add a better air compressor to the setup. Currently it feeds the horn and it isn’t strong enough to do both since it’s from an old school bus. It does have a bell that has been cleaned up and polished, but it can’t be used right now for that reason. It might be a future upgrade though when it gets repainted.

I couldn’t tell ya how much is in it, it’s been so long since my grandfather started working on it. It IS street legal, but you better not be in a hurry to get anywhere 😅

So what's happening with the locomotive now?
Well it’s made one or two appearances at career days, and birthday parties for kids around town, but it’s in need of a repaint and a tune up. My grandpa and I are talking about paint schemes right now. I kinda want to keep it Santa Fe, but want it to be a little more prototypical. But we’ll see what happens. Thanks for the question!

It is actually street legal! We get a few weird looks when it does go on the road, which is somewhat rare as it only comes out for special events like town events and local parades, but it IS street legal.
