    The right lighting conditions is more important than any editing. Beautiful early morning light sure has made a difference to these amazing shots!

      Guardian Observer You seem to disregard any photographic skill and complain that everything is edited, I find that quite disrespectful to the photographer.
      You can edit a good photo and it'll look amazing, you can edit a bad photo and it'll still look bad

    Lovely pics Arthur - I recognise many of those locations. Congratulations on being a very cool dude!
    I was wondering whether you went full-frame and have any thoughts? On my budget the modern upgrade choice from D300 is a tough call. I was thinking of an old D700 for only a little more money than a D7100 because of wide-angle availability, but I see (after some research) that there are some really excellent wide angle zooms for the DX (your Tokina 11-16 & Nik 14-24 f4.0 which mean that an FX camera is no longer a 'MUST HAVE' for wider landscapes. The other aspect is the dynamic range and the beautiful colour image we keep hearing about. The D7100 has much more modern tech in its sensor and I don't have the experience to know whether the D700 with older 12MP sensor would beat the images of the D7100 (lens considerations aside). I take it you are thining of a much newer and pricier FX camera body than D700.

    hi
    beautiful pictures and nice landscapes!
    I can't decide if I should buy a nikon d7100 with aps-c or a sony 7. Can you recommend the nikon as a camera for landscape photography? Or should I buy the sony 7?

    • @artursomerset
      @artursomerset  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Arthur Scholz Thank you. Full frame always better than crop. Sony is a great camera but more expensive lenses. If money is not a problem then Sony.

    • @arthurscholz2467
      @arthurscholz2467 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +artursomerset Thank you for your reply! The costs are my problem. Is there such a big difference between the Image sharpenes and quality from an aps-c camera like the d7100 with a tokina 11-16 or a nikkor 10-24mm to a full frame camera with a 16-35

    • @artursomerset
      @artursomerset  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sharpness is not an issue really. The biggest advantage of full frame camera is dynamic range and colour depth.

    hey there. need 2 lenses with this camera, a portrait/macro lens & a wide angle lense for landscape. which ones would you recommend. (cheap if possible - but worthwhile)
    and which telephoto would you suggest with this, if any .
    your reply will be much appreciated.

    Hi, I'm from the Philippines, I stumbled upon your video while I was browsing videos to learn more about the D7100 since we are planning to buy one for me and my girlfriend. First, I wanna say that you take amazing landscape shots, you could publish a book if you want to, and nice choice of music too. I have some questions though, your response is highly appreciated:
    1. I see a lot of foggy scenarios here in your video, what are your experiences with the D7100 when it comes to such places? Would you wish that the weather sealing could be better?
    2. I am planning to do some wide shots, could you suggest something inexpensive (and you wouldn't mind using) relative to the Tokina 11-16 since we are on a tight budget (I know photography is expensive hahaha)
    Thank you for reading this, hope to hear from you soon. Cheers!

      @artursomerset  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Augustus and thank you for the words of appreciation.
      1. No problems at all so far. Nikon claims that the D7100 now has “equivalent to the D800 series and D300S” sealing applied to different parts of the body. In short, this camera is supposed to be able to handle tough weather and some moisture.
      2. To be honest I don't know any cheaper or better wide angle lens for D7100 than Tokina 11-16mm.
      Have a great weekend.

    Hi ..
    Greate work, Awsome and well done !!
    can you tell more please,
    1) about the lens that you used at those pictures, Prime lens or just Zoom kit lens ?
    2) did you use any Filters on your lens.. like ND or Polarizing etc.. or just Software Edit ?
    in your Previous video (with Nikon D5300) You wrote that you are an amateur photographer ..
    From my own perspective you much more amateurish.

      +Gix The PhotoNewbe Hi there and thank you.
      I used varieties of lenses. Mostly Tokina 11-16mm, Sigma 70-300mm and sometime Nikon 18-55mm or 35mm prime. For long exposure I use Formatt Hitech ND 3.0 filter which is 10 stops and Hoya Pro polarizer. All photos edited in Photoshop mostly which required some skills to make it right.

    do you think the D7200 would add more to the D7100s performance for your use?

    • @artursomerset
      @artursomerset  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't think that upgrading to D7200 would change anything. My next new camera will be rather full frame, D750 or D810.

      O'Brian Tomlinson yes you are absolutely right, but if you are planning to do a video showing the performance of a camera at least you shoul put some less edited photos, so everyone can see what kind of photos the camera can really do
