The subterranean unmapped region was a prison that was made by the main villain to imprison and control any of the Ape's or monkeys that get found if not killed...
The way they both were confirmed in the same universe was in the post credits from kong skull island. And they did it really good. They only showed cave paintings of Godzilla and they show the monsters from kotm and at the end you can hear godzillas roar. And at the end of kotm they showed a cave painting of Godzilla fighting kong, wich lead to gvk.
i watched all the monsterverse movies for the first time recently and this video pretty much echoes my thoughts exactly; godzilla 2014 is the closest one i'd call to a "good" film, but godzilla vs kong was undeniably the most fun of them despite (or perhaps because of) how brain-meltingly dumb it is, while king of the monsters did the monsters better than the rest and then everything else in the movie is so goddamn poorly done that it dragged the great monsters down. i literally had to rewind during godzilla vs kong when kong goes through the hole godzilla blasts in the earth because i was like "wait, did he just climb back to the surface in like two seconds?" lmao plus it was the first of the films to have the monsters fight during the day! that counts for something! and yeah, godzilla x kong is just there, being wild and having human characters for absolutely no reason lol
I mean there are stuff that needed to be worked on and still does but the moment they introduced skull island and king of the monsters we should've already knew we'll go for a thrilling goofy ride and that's that
Glad to see you're still working! A few thoughts: - Agreed on the general quality and direction of the franchise. - Agree that KotM is the weakest in the franchise, but I would liken its strengths & weaknesses almost symmetrically to Pacific Rim. I don't understand the appeal of PR, as I find that movie's leads (Hunnam & Kikuchi) insufferable & the whole "drift" plot-device baffling. - KotM ironically seems to be the most liked film by traditional Godzilla fans (i.e. fans of Toho's Godzilla), because it perfectly encapsulates all those older, classical movies' both good & bad traits. - I'm fine with this series continuing the Showa Era (1954-1975) tone of fun blockbusters because we have contemporary Toho Godzilla for the introspective stuff (i.e. Shin Godzilla, G-1, etc.)., and unlike most comic book movies, these MVerse films aren't exhausting and are unpretentious.
Ion like how Godzilla always need help with the big fights , he should’ve fight ghidorah 101 and never got beat up by his robotic counterpart but movie still good 🔥🔥
I also think the G19 post credits was stupid because the whole plan of the villains in that movie was about creating a more smaller and balanced civilization and in a way *"saving"* the planet and ecosystem, but in GvK, it's implied those same villains gave the skull to the apex company that would build MechaGodzilla. But that makes no sense because those villains wanted to make sure humanity continues to evolve and become the alpha species of the planet, which was different than what motives the previous villains had in G19, which just shows you how GvK sort of squandered what came before and that the motives of the villains between movies was completely different in every way possible. I like the quote that the trapper character uses in GxK. *"While we're throwing random shit at the wall..."* Which is meta and funny because I believe G19 to GxK is when they were starting to throw random shit at the wall and not in a good way either. This series is all over the place and I am not sure what story elements they'll even use to keep it going as a franchise. I kind of miss Gareth Edwards and his take on the films and monsters as well. 💯
This is all why gorzilla as a eholr franchise has lasted for over 7p years now. Compare a franchise that has dumb films and serious films to king kong films, which have been the same thing for ovr 90 years. Godzilla franchise foes something no other franchise has ever done, and that is consistent dumb and serious films. Thr franchise woudlve died off years ago if it weren't for that. And in fact, without the monsterverse, there would have never have been a minus one godzilla film. The monsterverse proves to everyone that it can work as anything. Serious, or dumb, its keeping itself alive. And has for over 70 years.
This review is bad, godzilla as a franchise tries things differently every motherfucking time. The monsterverse has never fallen like you assume, by your logic every godzilla era has fallen because they all follow a similar formula. Also stop comparing minus one please, your like the millionth person to make that mistake and I'm starting to get pissed.
The inner earth in the new movies exists in a dimensional fold within our planet that is links and ties both dimensional planes like symbiosis to one another... Basically It is not in our spacetime dimension...They are basically going through an Einstein-Rosen bridge when using the portals. It's also the same fold in spacetime that allows the creatures to travel across our planet in an instant when they use certain wormholes basically that don't go to the inner plane just ride along the fold before popping up in another location on the planet,....

Mothra always reancarnates that’s why she is back in the new empire.
i watched all the monsterverse movies for the first time recently and this video pretty much echoes my thoughts exactly; godzilla 2014 is the closest one i'd call to a "good" film, but godzilla vs kong was undeniably the most fun of them despite (or perhaps because of) how brain-meltingly dumb it is, while king of the monsters did the monsters better than the rest and then everything else in the movie is so goddamn poorly done that it dragged the great monsters down.
i literally had to rewind during godzilla vs kong when kong goes through the hole godzilla blasts in the earth because i was like "wait, did he just climb back to the surface in like two seconds?" lmao plus it was the first of the films to have the monsters fight during the day! that counts for something!
and yeah, godzilla x kong is just there, being wild and having human characters for absolutely no reason lol
Kong skull island?
GxK does the human plot better than GvK and KotM. however it definitely panders more to the Kaiju fan than it does the giant realistic monster crowd
Look, Ghidorah is an alien meaning things like his skull might contain a consciousness.
I mean there are stuff that needed to be worked on and still does but the moment they introduced skull island and king of the monsters we should've already knew we'll go for a thrilling goofy ride and that's that
A descent analysis. But you lost me at "so dumb it's practically immune to criticism." Nothing is immune to criticism. Especially if it's that dumb.
Dumb FUN.
Ironic but that is how most of the fans defend the movies
How is gxk dumb
Wait till he hears about the entire Japanese Godzilla movies
Glad to see you're still working! A few thoughts:
- Agreed on the general quality and direction of the franchise.
Pacific Rim was good because it was giant robots fighting giant monsters, pretty much everything else is secondary to that
Ion like how Godzilla always need help with the big fights , he should’ve fight ghidorah 101 and never got beat up by his robotic counterpart but movie still good 🔥🔥
Bros never seen the Heisei Era and it shows
I also think the G19 post credits was stupid because the whole plan of the villains in that movie was about creating a more smaller and balanced civilization and in a way *"saving"* the planet and ecosystem, but in GvK, it's implied those same villains gave the skull to the apex company that would build MechaGodzilla.
*"While we're throwing random shit at the wall..."*
Which is meta and funny because I believe G19 to GxK is when they were starting to throw random shit at the wall and not in a good way either.
This series is all over the place and I am not sure what story elements they'll even use to keep it going as a franchise.
I kind of miss Gareth Edwards and his take on the films and monsters as well. 💯
The Novelizations do make solid connections between the movies.
@rickyrackey7930 Well it's too bad the pay off isn't there in the films besides a few mentions of the monsters throughout the source material.

And now: the TV show 🦋
The mini Kong’s name is Suko.
43:43 Oh yes, the 2nd best Transformers movie (no irony), even though this scene is rotten
Bro keep making videos, I deadass thought you were like, a ginormous review channel, you're gonna hit it big with reviews like this.
🎉
Godzilla KotM and GodzillaxKong are definitely the worst ones out of the monsterverse. Only good parts are anything to do with the monsters themselves. The writing is atrocious and especially with the human involvement in the films.
G14 and K17 were great as G19, Gvk and Gxk is were things were starting to fuck up.
Gvk and Gxk were peak dawg
@@TheGoldenPlatoon757dude...what? GvK and GxK are superior to KoTM. Those films at least deliver on the monster action without the annoying cut aways.
GxK is the highest earning MonsterVerse movie, it has highest score on rotten tomatoes (audience wise) and you just don’t understand anything about the story and plot in the movie because you’re stupid and that’s why you think the writing is bad, your opinion is atrocious and in valid as f, do better.
@@economiccrisis9267Gkotm had a better plot, soundtrack, tone, monsters and villains than gvk and gxk
For me it's the blatant militarism and military glorification combined with the bad plot that makes these movies suck. I just can't with the American exceptionalism anymore.
So that means your not gonna watch the 6th Monsterverse film when it comes out in 2027.
Troll 2022
I disagree the mutos are amazing
Didn't realize they give degrees for yapping
don't let him cook ever again
Sounds like you're doing a video on a universe that u really don't like. KTM was a gr8 movie. Millie was horrible in it with that dumb smirk. Lol I don't think you really watched these movies. The last 2 movies are too cartoonish. You'd probably like that. And layoff the DCEU.
Bros speaking fluently yappanese 💀
Hater
Nah, just a guy with an opinion, lol.
@@TheGoldenPlatoon757 ill informed one for e.g. difficulty with mothra here is that they weren't sure they got the rights to use mothra again. They went with a new character Fossara or something. Mothra was added in the last minute. Besides Mothra is psychic. In the orginal too she always comes back somehow.
@@KingGoji-m1r3 If he wanted clout, he'd give no explanations to why he feels the way he does about the films and would instead just call it stupid and terrible without providing any interesting critiques at all.
@jackdarby2168 I'll give you that because I think he forgot that the G19 movie credits included a new egg, but you have to admit, it was interesting that this is where mothra ended up apparently. I also think that other monster was kinda cool and the angel wings were heavenly to look at honestly.
In my opinion Godzilla x Kong is the worst monsterverse movie.
I think that G14 and K17 were in my opinion, the only good ones and the rest following those films went all over the place with the tone and style.
Nah KotM is the worst of the Millie Bobbie Brown-verse
@@SerenGetter lol you didn't read my comment fanboy 😆
@@Godzilla-jr5gi Sorry, the more Millie Bobbie Brown, the worse the movie is, thems the rules 👍👍
@@SerenGetter well its my opinion and you can't change it.
Sounds like you hate all the movies… Just stop watching them if they’re so damn bad. Jeez! 😂
Interesting perspective but I just totally disagree, 2014 had so much potential that was squandered with "monkey punch lizard" -- why can't we have both some serious movies and the bottom of the barrell action nonsense too.
GxK had both serious and silly aspects
Because it's not that easy, you can't focus on the human characters if you want to see more Kaiju fight. Reason why minus one works is because it's about the people, Godzilla 2014 was trying to do both but the human cast have nothing interesting about them and tbh all people wanted was the Kaiju.
@@dextergzslasher4402 G14 was better than every other movie though and had the correct ratio of story to monsters tbh
@@Fire-Hydrant-Cactus that's copium it was a cartoon
@@Maurauth the movie implies that skar king raped all the female kongs and forced them to raise his youth. He tortures what is equivalent to a puppy until it kills someone just for his enjoyment, and he beheads disobedient kongs and puts their heads on display for the other kongs to see. The place itself is literally a parallel to hell. But thats all not that serious right?
