A pin lock sim. Is where you put a pin lock on your sim card. Go to security and go to sim lock but to turn it on you must know factory pin. It's different for each carrier

@@jonshaw6650 I use my trusty Note 3 to set them all the time. Other phones ask for the current PIN, but none of my Note 3s have ever asked for it. I'm sure a lot of older phones will allow setting a PIN without providing the current PIN, but I've only ever used my Note 3. BTW, this method did work for me. I was surprised as I haven't had to use a PIN locked SIM in a minute.
