I was told I had a calling and I need to be a sangoma. Having grown up in a Christian based family I knew that I would not be able to adapt and the thought of having to actually kill a chicken myself one day was quite scary so I told the person telling me that I would much better be uMthandazi ( the person who uses water and prays for the water when people consult). He said that's OK because because I have a gift of prayer and he said he would help because he was also kinda doing the same thing. He said we would need to go pray in the river and he has to dip me inside as well and he gave me a list of things that I had to bring because he had to talk to my ancestors who had given me this gift. In the list there was a chicken that he had to kill I think for the ancestors. I brought everything he asked like candles and stuff and I just forgot the chicken on purpose 🙃 because it just didn't make sense to me why all those things since it was prayer based. To cut the story short I found a really good church and renewed my faith in Jesus. I think we go through all these things because we lack good churches sometimes. When these spirits take over you find that the pastors are too weak to deal with the problem and you do find that some people die when they don't answer the calling. Personally I lost everything 💔 my, job and it almost ruined the relationship with my family but through Jesus Christ I'm slowly rebuilding my life and although I don't have much, I have peace. Jesus has really saved me from that life.

I think the sister has to start talking more clear, by saying things: "They told me that..", "I believed...", "that was not true...", "this was", I mean even in her videos she speaks of ancestral spirits as if those exist, even though they were demons acting the part. Also some times she speaks of the past as if it's now because she is recalling it and confuses the listener by not using proper terms. It could be that she may not be educated or just frivolous as she expands on things. I appreciate her sharing, but there are some thing she needs to change when she does it; it becomes tiring following her train of thought after a while. -Here, in this video, she finishes by saying "You're right! Automatically you're right!" but she means it as "what you say seems right to me" but this may make the listener think that she is saying that the sangoma saying "that those are your ancestral spirits", is right. Do you see the confusion in the way she talks? If not, see more of her videos and help her please correct herself, thank you!

I was told I had a calling and I need to be a sangoma. Having grown up in a Christian based family I knew that I would not be able to adapt and the thought of having to actually kill a chicken myself one day was quite scary so I told the person telling me that I would much better be uMthandazi ( the person who uses water and prays for the water when people consult). He said that's OK because because I have a gift of prayer and he said he would help because he was also kinda doing the same thing. He said we would need to go pray in the river and he has to dip me inside as well and he gave me a list of things that I had to bring because he had to talk to my ancestors who had given me this gift.
In the list there was a chicken that he had to kill I think for the ancestors. I brought everything he asked like candles and stuff and I just forgot the chicken on purpose 🙃 because it just didn't make sense to me why all those things since it was prayer based. To cut the story short I found a really good church and renewed my faith in Jesus. I think we go through all these things because we lack good churches sometimes. When these spirits take over you find that the pastors are too weak to deal with the problem and you do find that some people die when they don't answer the calling.
Personally I lost everything 💔 my, job and it almost ruined the relationship with my family but through Jesus Christ I'm slowly rebuilding my life and although I don't have much, I have peace. Jesus has really saved me from that life.

I think the sister has to start talking more clear, by saying things: "They told me that..", "I believed...", "that was not true...", "this was", I mean even in her videos she speaks of ancestral spirits as if those exist, even though they were demons acting the part. Also some times she speaks of the past as if it's now because she is recalling it and confuses the listener by not using proper terms. It could be that she may not be educated or just frivolous as she expands on things. I appreciate her sharing, but there are some thing she needs to change when she does it; it becomes tiring following her train of thought after a while.
