    The last thing I wanna hear on my flight from the captain is:
    "I have no clue what's going on but we're like gaining and losing power. So if you guys have any ideas feel free to let me know." 😭💀
    Enjoying the vid tho
    Fun fact: Commercial airliners have a lifetime of about 50,000,000 miles or 30 years.

  • @yungkneez
    @yungkneez 3 ปีที่แล้ว +593

    LIKE SO HE SEES: Hey Trev - the reason your engines aren't responding to your throttle is because you have the auto throttle on! At about 5:18 you can see a button in the center of the cockpit that says "ATHR" on it, which is the auto throttle. It's lit up green, meaning it's engaged. Note that it doesn't depend on if the autopilot is engaged - it's a separate system. If you press it, it'll turn the auto throttle off and the engines will be under your control. The reason it's so slow after takeoff is because it's programmed to fly certain speeds based on your flight plan, altitude and level of flaps you have deployed so it doesn't damage anything. So if you put your flaps up, the auto throttle will notice, and speed up.

    • @harrisonchandler877
      @harrisonchandler877 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey man ive been playing this and hoping u might know whats going on my autothrottle doesnt even work even when its on and same with my speed and altitude autopilot have no clue why but u have any clue?

    • @yungkneez
      @yungkneez 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@harrisonchandler877 For the auto throttle to work, it'll only take over if it's engaged and the throttle on your joystick or whatever is between about 20-80% (that's why Trevor only had control of the throttle if it was near full or no throttle at all). Another thing is that the auto throttle and autopilot get their speed, altitude and heading from the flight plan by default. So if you didn't create a flight plan and just started flying, you'll have to enter all that manually and tell the auto throttle/autopilot to follow it. It's hard to explain here, so I'll see if I can find a video that explains it.

    • @yungkneez
      @yungkneez 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@harrisonchandler877 This is for a different sim, but the procedure/explanation is the same: th-cam.com/video/6JxCDSkZ8W0/w-d-xo.html. Only difference is when he says "pull on the knob", in FS2020, you just push on the bottom bit of the dial instead. Hopefully someone will make a video explaining it in FS2020 soon.

      @yungkneez 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@harrisonchandler877 I'm not sure how this new simulator all works, but your assistance settings may have something to do with it too - try looking in there and anything that has to do with controlling the aircraft, set it to manual so the AI doesn't override you. Of course, it's also possible that you have a bugged install and there's only one way to fix that 😭

    Hey Trev love these videos. It usually depends on how heavy the aircraft is but pull back on the yoke or side stick at anywhere from 140 to 148 knots with the A320neo just a little tip if you need it

  • @johnlovesskyrim8151
    @johnlovesskyrim8151 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Few tips 😄
    1. your rotate speed (Vr speed) in the a320 will mostly be around ~140 knots. You can actually calculate the v-speeds in the fmc, (your little computer in the aircraft), it will also calculate what flap setting you should use for take off.
    2. Configure the autopilot, you cant just turn in on and expect it to do everything 😄 (there is a panel in the cockpit, its like above the displays)
    3. I'd recommend you to watch tutorials on how to program the a320's fmc (flight management computer, the little computer i was talking about at #1). Its the greatest tool in the aircraft, you can setup your route, autopilot and lots of other things.
    4. Watch a cold and dark a320 tutorial on youtube, there they will explain you on how to start up the whole aircraft.
    Believe me, its so fun to learn an aircraft, and its really rewarding! Have fun 😁

    • @johnlovesskyrim8151
      @johnlovesskyrim8151 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice vid!! During the take-off, the V1 (pullling up) of an Airbus 320 would be at around 140knots instead of it airborn-ing itself at 200knots but other than that. Great flight 👌

    • @craigdickson9311
      @craigdickson9311 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Irfan Marazmizal v1 is the speed when they have to takeoff even if anything happens (e.g. engine failure). An exception to this rule is if the aircraft becomes unflyable. Anything before the v1 callout they would abort the takeoff. Rotation can happen before v1 but very rarely. The pulling up is with the ‘rotate’ call out.

      @@craigdickson9311 Very good explanation. Your rotation speed is labeled as "Vr"

    • @trottheblackdog
      @trottheblackdog 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. V1 is the committment speed. Vr is rotate speed. V2 is initial climb speed (or is it V2+15?)

    • @lego5773
      @lego5773 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trottheblackdog V2 is your takeoff safety speed which means it is safely above stall speed and minimum control speeds for example Vmc which is your minimum control speed with the critical engine inoperative. V2 would be the airspeed you would fly at if an engine went out on the climb. A climb out is usually conducted at either Vx or Vy which are best angle of climb and best rate of climb respectively

    Your engines were not responding because you had auto throttle engaged, when you went full throttle it went into TOGA (Take-off/go around) which is full thrust which over-rides the auto throttle.

    4:33 When you angle of attack gets higher, you have more of a chance to stall and air has a hard time getting into the engines. The engines warm up the air an use that as thrust, so when you don’t have much air, you don’t have much thrust. That’s one reason why planes fly into the wind.

    Great video, man! I would highly recommend you study into aerodynamics a little bit, it’s super interesting and very beneficial as a pilot, understanding everything down to why the shape of the wing is significant, to knowing exactly what’s happening across your wing during a stall, to why and how you can over stress your airframe, to knowing why the nose of all small single engine prop planes have leftward pull. You will be blown away by how much you can feel the planes flight characteristics just by knowing how it all works, and even more so by how well this flight sim does replicating it. I noticed a handful of things you didn’t do properly throughout the flight, flaps go all the way up when cruising, that was what was messing with the throttle i’m thinking (not positive on that one though)
