Tanmay bro what you ate today is Khaman and not dhokla. Khaman is made of either besan which is mainly eaten in Ahmedabad side or it is made from grinding chana dal which mainly you will get in Surat. Dhokla is basically made from urad dal and rice flour and white in colour. We Gujaratis call it idada. You will get that in Surat also. Hope i was able to clear your confusion between dhokla and khaman
