Yes indeed there will always be disagreements. Maybe I wouldn't agree on everything gautama said either. But what I mean is it doesnt make Nichiren a bad person to want money. He has taken up on a tradition with large responsibilities. More than I will probably ever achieve in my life. Of course not even nichiren is perfect or his philosophy, but you can still learn alot of it.
A mind now clouded by the illusions of the innate darkness of life is like a tarnished mirror, but when polished, it is sure to become like a clear mirror, reflecting the essential nature of phenomena and the true aspect of reality. Arouse deep faith, and diligently polish your mirror day and night. How should you polish it? Only by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo"

@tobsrobs I am sorry if you´ve ran into some Soka fanatics... unforutnately, they exist in all religions. Soka Gakkai is about freedom of ideas.. it is a buddhist philosophy, so it can never be about adoctrination... unfortunately, some people are in so much suffering that they become possesive and defensive, and try to impose themselves on others. That is not buddhist spirit. But, everybody has their own rythm to face life´s tribulations.=) We can only live and learn!
It's not his form of buddhism, but the form that has been passed along for generations. We shouldn't judge a character by his position...although I understand your concern. It's always hard to mix religion or spiritual mentality with money. But this is the world we live in and we must deal with.

I am not saying that Nichiren is a "bad" person, but some of the credibility of the historical consistence of Nichiren Buddhism,SGI, and the historical Buddha do not match up. This is common with the many schools of Buddhism, as they all teach their interpretation of it, and Buddhism itself is mainly the 4 noble truths, and the Eightfold path,where each varies on the methods of them.
I am not sure what is "true" Buddhism is, as Buddhism is open to many interpretations. I am not a Buddhist, although I agree with parts of each school of Buddhism, the 4 noble truths, and the Eightfold path. The question is what is within Buddhism, compatible with science, reason, logic, and empirical data. Reincarnation, and Karma, are the Buddhist doctrines mainly I disagree with, to make me not a "Buddhist"
