He's one of the most articulate high school seniors I've seen in a long time. I would love him to come to UK. I think Pope would be a great coach for him. They are both very cerebral people.

I’ve said it before. And I’ll continue to. Kentucky speaks for itself. Kentucky recruits itself. Having a good recruiting coach there is just a bonus. It’s Kentucky. Enough said

The transfer portal guys will be dying to come to UK, Pope is doing miracles with the ones he has right now! Luckily our team won’t live or die based on how well our freshmen play.
Thinking Calipari would continue to be able to recruit like he did at Kentucky at a place like arkansas is where some that thought arkansas was the leader, were wrong. Calipari classes will gradually get worst and worst the more kids forget that he was Kentucky's coach, the only reason he's got a few kids is he recruited them for years at Kentucky. Almost feel bad for the guy, at least he won't have any pressure to win anymore. Wilson will use the other schools to get the highest possible Nil deal he can from Kentucky, and I don't blame him, but that's where he'll be, and it's the only reason he hasn't committed already. He just sweeting his deal. And what a freaking nasty class it is! 😳. With what coach Pope has coming back and his ability to identify exactly the type of players he needs will have Kentucky scarier than they ever were under their former coach.
He would be dumb not to pick UK. There is absolute magic at the school and pope is the magician

I very much want him to come to UK, but going to any of the programs on his list couldn't be considered dumb. When recruits see comments like this, it has to be a turn off.

Coming to UK.
As a Kentucky fan UNC being the top competition for Caleb gives me confidence Kentucky will land him. He doesn’t even know what UNC will look like next season especially the backcourt and if it’s freshman you going to play with Derek Dixon or Jasper Johnson and Acaden Lewis? Acaden and Jasper are the obvious choice
In Pope we trust. We will have more returners this year than ever. You know, he's gonna definitely get some five star transfers as well. The standard has been set and pope will not shy away from that.

@ yeah Derek Dixon is very good. I haven’t watched to much Dennis but Davis hasn’t real played Jackson or Powell that much. I don’t think Caleb is going to make a choice based on the rest of the class but he has a relationship with Acaden who I really do think is the most college ready PG in the 25 class

I think hes a UK lock, but hes waiting for a bigass bag offer. Thats why he says hes waiting til dec, jan. If somebody offers him a crazy bag he may go somewhere other than Ky. Imo. Why else wait so long. But if we beat oh st, gonzaga, and clemson hell committ before then
I may be naive (and hopeful) but ai believe the kid in what he said during his KSR (I think) interview.
And that is, he isnt driven by the overall size of the NIL deal as far as his decision goes. However, he does think if he is considered the top recruit at said school, then he should have the best NIL deal at that school.
He sounded like he is honestly doing his homework, watching coaches coach and interacting with players, systems, etc.
I think UK has a great chance, but it is not a lock.

UK fan but I think we are full for next year on recruiting. We now need to focus on experience and toughness to blend with T Perry, Noah, Chandler, BG, Oweh and the three new signings. We can get an experienced 4 that can defend, distribute and score with stats to back it up out of the Portal that can give us a couple years.

Yeah Hubert i heard is pretty mad at some of the big wigs at UNC for not putting the money up. Nowdays you got to have the $$$ to play.
He's obviously going to UK, why prolong and waste teams time. Kentucky will have 4-5 freshman starting...how's that worked out for them? Good luck though, not hate.
We have 3 freshman now that will be possible starters next year with some 5 stars coming off the bench. And the past freshman didn't have coach Pope leading them and actually teaching basketball 😂

Otega Oweh & Garrison will start so immediately you’re down to 3 without even considering one of the sophomores Noah/Perry/Chandler may also start.
He also mentioned he not sure if he wants to play with a freshman backcourt at Kentucky bc teams are older now.
Nobody even knows what UNC backcourt will look line next year. He said all the right things he might have said something about playing with a freshman backcourt but he said he wants to play with Acaden and Jasper. UNC is the biggest competition for him but he’s not doing interviews with UNC reporters he’s doing them with Kentucky reporters at a Kentucky game in which he won. I’m not saying he’s for sure going to Kentucky anything can happen in recruiting but Kentucky is the favorite and I’d say they have a good lead at this point

@ he came back to visit UNC a 2nd time ,it was on unofficial visit on his dime that says alot right there .
@ yeah he did but from what I’ve heard from reporters is it didn’t really move the needle and that Kentucky is still the lead dog. UNC is definitely still in it and he might have went to UNC on his own dime but he did an interview on KSR a Kentucky podcast/TH-cam channel and any recruit that has ever been on there ended up going to Kentucky and he was at the game where he beat Duke and the next day he canceled his Arkansas visit. Not to mention all the talk with Acaden and Jasper who he has made public he was to play with. I know players do that all the time but I feel like it’s pretty clear he wants to go to Kentucky he just wants to see Pope coach in some conference games to see the system and coaching style. He knows how Hubert does at UNC. So right now even if I want a Kentucky fan you would have to say they are in the lead anything can happen I this era with NIL and transfers but I like where UK is at

Kentucky won’t have a full freshman backcourt next year. Travis Perry and Colin chandler will be sophomores and get one of them starts back there, unless otegah ends up going to the nba which is very possible granted the way he’s playing then he will be a senior, transfer portal will play a roll you can bet that. It’ll be fun to see what team pope puts together for next year but I’m not thinking it’ll be horribly young.
