    I have really enjoyed watching the changes you are making to the Street Twin. Still think the paint job is the best part! Changes the whole look of the bike.

      Yeah they look proper nice. Just beautifully machined. Also changes the feel of the peg a bit - feels like crisper shifting to me

  • @laikatravels
    @laikatravels 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice, its the finer details that add to the overall all look of the bike. The petrol cap needs the vent to allow fuel out or you’d get a vacuum in the tank btw.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah that’s pretty obvious now I think about it! Haha thanks for the tip Laika

  • @ronaldvangulden7314

    Great looking parts! To realy finish it I would suggest painting the heat shields from the injector body a darker or black color and the same goes for the speedo ring and the brake and shift lever. But the Streettwin already looks very classy!

  • @MikeBifulco
    @MikeBifulco 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks great, man. Lovely bits of cleanup here - but to be honest, getting rid of the stock headlight mount (that z-shaped silver thing) is the biggest game changer for me. Can't wait to get to that on my bike.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it definitely makes a big difference. Wish triumph had just gone with standard headlight mounts in the first place!

    You going to keep the stock seat? Or do a swap? I still have the stock on mine and have spent so much time looking at seat choices....

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I’m gonna keep it stock for now, as I like the shape. The bench seat is a bit too long and flat for my taste. Would look good if the subframe was cut shorter but I don’t want to do that. I’ve been thinking about getting the stock seat covered with a different stitching pattern tho - Hurley custom seats on Instagram look great 👍

    Can't wait for the rear shock replacement video! Bike turning our really nice. Any plans for engine, exhaust, intake mods?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TEC have released some cams so maybe I’ll do that eventually but it looks like a lot of work and I don’t really have time at the moment. Yeah I’m looking forward to a free day at the weekend to sort the suspension. The rear shocks should be a quick job but I want to do the fork springs at the same time so I can really feel the difference on the first ride

    • @RidingWithGerdas
      @RidingWithGerdas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MOTOBOB I need to upgrade my rear shocks on my C5 ER-5 but probably best thing would be just to get bigger, more rewarding bike

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe! There’s definitely a limit to how much you can spend on a bike before it’s worth just buying something better. But I really enjoy mods and upgrades so it’s part of the fun for me

    love those side covers,where did you get them?

  • @GLPfrskn
    @GLPfrskn 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    How difficult was the drill & mesh work on the side panels?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a custom shop do it as they were painting it anyway. The mesh is just epoxied onto the back in one piece. I guess a holesaw drill bit would do for the holes? A pilot hole to help get it in the right spot...

    Hola, fantástica tu moto 🥰
    La talonera gris (del lado del freno trasero) recomiendas quitársela?
    Me gustaría también cambiar los reposapiés y los pedales a negro.
    Muchas gracias 🙏🏼🖤

  • @marcosd999
    @marcosd999 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very nice, do you still commute on that? The tyres don't look very road friendly!

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah commute every day. The tyres are dual sport so they’re ok for the road, although they’re squaring off at the back incredibly quickly so I might go with something else next time round

    Your bike is looking really cool, go on!!
    Short question: Did you ever had problems with loosening oil? Especially on the right side of the bike? I ride my ST for 1700km and often see oil on the exhaust and the inner side of the brake lever.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks KH. No I haven’t been losing oil - the right side of the bike is where the filler cap is. Maybe check it’s on tight. Also check the drain bolt. But it might be best to take it back to the dealer?

    • @karlheinz668
      @karlheinz668 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your answer. Of course i will go to my dealer. It is good to know it is not a problem in general. so always ride safe and thanks again

    @vejos5338 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, nice video. Have you changed something else to put those tires?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No - continental don’t make a tubeless 18 inch front so you have to use a tube type rear. It doesn’t handle very well - wants to go straight on. But I like how it looks

    • @vejos5338
      @vejos5338 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      looks fantastic, but seems like if you needed to change forks to make space for tires. Looks amazing, congrats for your bike and thanks for your response.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah the stock forks. But yes the front tyre is a little wider than the stock tyre. Thanks dude! 🙌🙌🙌

    Check out Tec bike parts for the rear shocks, before you buy Hargon, have Tec ones on my scrambler, exerlent.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Already bought the hagons - they’re sitting in the garage. But I’ve heard good stuff about the TEC parts

  • @cloggsy1971
    @cloggsy1971 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not doing the Tec Bike Parts cam shaft replacement for more power then? Also, do you know about the new MOT regs; your bike won’t pass an MOT with a non-standard headlight fitted 😖

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah not any time soon anyway. Do you know of anyone who’s done it? Wonder if it’s worthwhile... and no I hadn’t seen about the MOT regs but I’ll have a read. Any other big changes for bikes?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MOTOBOB V-Strom Owners Group: “If you are in the UK be careful. If the LED/HID are not factory fitted it is now an MOT failure. Be prepared to change back to the normal light before the MOT.” “They are the new MOT rules. The LED/HID lights they have to be calibrated by the manufacturer. Because with their high light intensity they can blind the drivers on the opposite lane. Partly they are correct. I have been blinded a lot of times from car drivers that they have fit DIY HID lights and they are not calibrated.”

    Bike is looking great. Will you eventually go back to road tyres?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Think so. These are squaring off on the rear so quickly! Maybe something between road and trail...

  • @Cicero75BC
    @Cicero75BC 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That is my dream bike. I'm still hoping to buy a Street Twin in the not to distant future. I see you decided to keep the stock seat which I think looks great. I don't really care for the aftermarket seats for the Street Twin. Two questions...
    1) How do those knobby tires feel when riding?
    2) There is a cam upgrade supposedly offered through TEC Bike parts which will derestrict the engine and give it more power. Have you thought about looking into that? th-cam.com/video/hRk6x_u3mBI/w-d-xo.html

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks DD! Yeah the stock seat looks best to me. I’m thinking about getting it covered in a different stitching pattern one day, but the shape of it looks better than the bench to me. The knobby tyres are ok but you need to muscle the front end around a lot. Also the rear is squaring off quickly with all the road use. So maybe next time I’ll go for something half way between road and trail. The cam upgrade looks interesting but I mainly ride the bike around town so the power is easily enough at the moment. It looks like quite a bit of work to install, and the brakes aren’t the best on this bike so would probably be a good idea to upgrade them at the same time.

    They are nice but not worth the price in my opinion. Much better saving and spending on better brakes
