That is how it is here now cold mornings and warm afternoons but then cold one day and very warm the next !
Don't sweat those stabilizer discs. 1 degree is nothing, they'll be further out when you finish planting, guarantee it. They just aren't designed with such tolerances in mind. You're right in that it's all about lateral stability. They will perform fine like that. We're getting it in the ground here in Alabama, good luck to y'all this season!

Always such great content. I know farming is not a joke, I worked with my uncle on his farm as a teen before joining the Marines. We have following you guys since before you had gotten married, you definitely have that special bond between you both. My wife and I share the same bond, we have been together 36 years. You're always smiling, always positive and always great spirits.

When applying thread sealant, always coat the male fitting (not the female) to avoid plugging the line :)

Hey Laura - Grant, if the grease cap is like a screw or bolt, use a small carbon fiber disc to cut a slot from tip toward the hex cap leaving a few thread uncut. so by loosing the screw without taking it out will allow the water to drain and quicker tightening the screw without having to fight aligning it under the pressure of the grease. Hey Laura. Great vid as always. Get you some glove clips. Hubby uses them at work to keep up with his gloves and they rock. They hook on your belt loop and no more misplaced or lost gloves.
YOU MAKE A GREAT TEAM !
For 5 year old children to keep gloves we used string to tie them together threw the arms of the jacket or jumper so not to loose the but not safe for adults lol

That really nice "gong" sound when you hit the stabilizing blade is the sound made when large objects strike the moon. The reverberations last several hours, it is very big and it is hollow.

Another cool video, and congrats on the award. Just out of curiosity would it be worthwhile replacing the plug on the gearbox with a small ball valve which would allow you to drain the water easier and probably with a lot less mess? The handle could be safety wired or lock wired so it doesnt just open with vibration. Just wondering.
Well Laura, here's an admission from a soon to be 79 year old in north Idaho, I periodically pause your video and just examine your face, your smile, your eyes, wondering how a young woman who is a worker deluxe, a daughter of pride from for a great dad, a wife of another terrific person named Grant can be so darn good looking!!! what you guys need for servicing pivots is a box or 10 of mechanics latex gloves, they are black medical gloves and my dad loves them working in his garage. once you learn the medic pinch removal youll never have greasy hands again. also a box of qtips, for cleaning things like that hose.

Stock up on fertilizer and propane. The prices are skyrocketing in the market... I’m a stockbroker. Most of your fertilizer originates in Russia or China. Grain and gas prices are going to go insane cuz nobody is going to have fertilizer, propane, gas, or livestock and human grains...especially corn. Be smart and stock up. Then hold your grain a little longer once harvested. Like I said, the prices are going to be insanely high.
i'm not a farmer but everything I do is ag related. I totally agree with you I haul equipment and anything else related to farming except fuel and the prices are insane and I don't think this is going to end well for some farmers

In Car-Talk terms you should install some wobble-bolts and the play will keep the disk straight. TBH when you're out planting the disk will be about 15F warmer and probably warp a whole other way so its all round.

Laura, sew in a piece of iron or steel, like a small washer, in the collar of your glove and get a magnet to wear on your belt. Then you just stick the glove to the belt when you need to do the fiddly stuff...
