It’s not a secret meeting, it’s a meeting with the key staff of Hillsong. Every church has these meetings regarding important matters. Saddest thing I see is how judgemental and unsupportive Christian’s are of each other. Brian and Hillsong are all part of God’s family and we will be worshipping alongside them in heaven, regardless of what you think. Leave it up to God to judge, and I’ll keep on trying to remove the plank from my eye so I can see the speck in yours.

YES, the bible is very clear about judging those within the church.. eg 1 Cor 5 is clear about who believers should associate with among the regulars... not to mention leaders ..

Then towards the end the elders show up on the scene after finding out about the 2019 incident and he is ordered to take time off...is it true to say the real reason for stepping down doesn't have much to do with the court case at all??

Yes but have you ever lived in the world and not in a bible ivory tower or conservative region? Then you probably know that anything concerning sex is a struggle of modern churches and pastors. It shouldn´t be like that but that´s the current situation. Some stats say that about 57% of pastors struggled in 2016 (couldn´t find a younger number while writing the comment) with porn. So that´s the potential number of pastors could be on a trail of having an affair out of marriage. I wouldn´t say that critics should shut but 90% of the critics are just out there to put Hillsong down and tell everyone what a horrible church it is while willingly ignore that could happen in any church and in any denomination. We live in an outrage and accusation culture that is never been interested in solving problems but in rage and hatred towards one another.
