Always been a Whitfield fan and also a big fan of 2 times. Only when I saw the @muzikxpress interview with Ann Lee and saw the comments did I even realise this. Saw the clip of Annerley singing Saturday night. Holy crap !! Uncanny. And from that moment on the biggest sham of pop since milli vanilli. But I guess that Annerley Gordon was well compensated ( or probably not 😢) and def some sort of legal gag. You listen to sexy eyes and not only is she on the writing credits it is so so Annerley. The bubble of my 90s is burst.
The difference between Milli Vanilli and Whigfield is, that in Eurodance (which evolved from Italo-Disco, Eurobeat and Hi-NRG) it was common that the person singing wasn't the person dancing in the video. The combos were called "projects" for exact that reason: They were a project between a producer, a composer, a vocal studio singer and studio rapper and the two people performing the lipsync. Whigfield isn't Annerley Gordon or Sannie - it's the whole crew that made the music and in the end Sannie was the face, Annerley was the voice of the project. Milli Vanilli on the other side claimed to be the people singing, not only to the fans, but also to the journalists and even to the Grammy committee. The Eurodance people never did that, and the journalists knew it. It wasn't a scandal, because it wasn't Frank Farian holding back the truth, but a known secret among all of those that realized that many voices from different projects sounded similar.
Wikipedia unfornatunally doesn't accept this "rumors", because the only source they would accept is the production team of Whigfield (and not only Annerley Gordon) admitting that it was her who sang. Some other Eurodance projects did that after some years, that's why there you have the real voice in the Wikipedia article. The Whigfield project never did.
So what about the foreign voices then? When whigfield released think of you the cd2 was whigfield mastermix where theres versions of saturday night etc all in thier spanish vocals are you sayin that ann lee sung those too? I dont think so 😂
yes she did. :) actually it was pretty common back then, not only Whigfield but many other artists also re-recorded their hits in foreign languages. Even Melanie from La Bouche sang "Sweet Dreams" in spanish and she was not a native, so why wouldn't Annerley be able to do it as well? ;) Just use your ears, it's not hard. ☺ Thanks for passing by!
I wouldn't say that singing spanish is really difficult for Annerley Gordon. That woman is fluent in italian (as a sheffield girl) and can also speak a bit of japanese and german. Also, you doesn't need to speak the language to be able to sing it. You only need a good ear and then a good voice you can adapt - and Annerley has that.
I'm confused here so wgos the real one why is there another one with the same name? I didn't know Ann Lee was Whitfield did the other one took her music and pretend to be Ann Lee? 🤔
The real voice of Whigfield is Annerley Gordon. Who also had aliases like Annalise, Ann Lee, Ann Gordon, and she also gave at the beginning the voice to Virginelle and Lolita, before she left her Eurobeat label for focussing on Whigfield. In Italian disco it's common that you have one singer singing under many different names, called aliases, also it's not uncommon that one alias is used by several singers. In Japan you had "Super Eurobeat" compilations, where in reality only 6 persons sung, but you have 18 different "artists" credited.
That's her own record label that she founded after Off Limits decided to put an end to the Whigfield project. She temporarily released a few songs as Sannie, probably during the time when she still didn't have the rights to use the name Whigfield to release new music now under her label SanniePop. It seems she was able to use the name Whigfield again to release her latest single in 2020!

Wikipedia is wrong then, it never mentions Ann as the singer, the model is credited as the singer herself.
of course. the hoax must go on. the official sources are not willing to expose the truth
@@mendrikhournstin1520 Indeed her voice in "Suga" song sounds different, similar to a singer from a while ago called Jentina.
It doesn't mention it on the "Saturday Night" Wiki page but it DOES mention it on Sannie's Wiki page.
@@jasonslayer1717 I was actually the one who updated the wiki page to include that. Someone has since removed it, but everyone knows the truth.

What is your theory on "Sanniepop"? She tried some songs as herself didn't she, what about that?
