Special Ones

They are special. Individuals. Individuals. None is the same as the other. But everyone has a past. Marked by abandonment. For indifference. And, so often, by cruelty. They are the special ones because they keep the joy. The hope. The ability to connect.

And do not give up hope. Even when the years pass by them. And life goes through them - without looking at them. No, they do not lose hope. They expect those who, so often, do not come.
No dog deserves to spend a lifetime waiting. And they are the special ones. Because they survived. Because they are beautiful. Because they are sweet. Because they are true. Because they are alive. Because they feel. Because they are important. They are important.
Their lives are important.
Do not let their lives go extinct. Waiting. What an irremediable waste of joy, affection, company ... it had to be.
