Two mates strike Gold while Pack Rafting in Tasmania!!

- In my last adventure I spent two days searching a river for large gold deposits. By the end of day two I had very little to show for my efforts, late in the day my mate Ron showed up and on day three we set off down the river on our pack rafts testing for new deposits. The whole day was an incredible experience and not to long into our morning we strike gold a nice alluvial deposit with some chunkier pieces. With the trip a success it's a good reminder of the value of friendships and once again that immersion in nature that keeps a soul alive.

Seems like Tassie doesn't want adventure tourism. That's OK. Think I might go to Thailand hire some motorbike & ride to Laos & Vietnam. Probably cheaper too. If not there NZ is only 3 hour flight.

Their proposal is to lock up massive tracts of land right across all 5 eyes countries. If you see the new proposals and fines for deviating from government guidelines in regards to native forests you’d be horrified. It’s sheer lunacy. The individuals behind these proposals are totally insane.

Tassie is a beautiful place and I was there last week thanks to my son and his wife who treated me to a holiday. I only wish I had more time there. Hopefully I get to go back again soon.

I grew up camping on rivers, fishing and shooting, riding motorbikes and sitting by a fire 🔥. We were very lucky to have freedom. It’s soo unfortunate that we have limited access to the very thing that some of us need to be alive. I call the river my soul’s battery. It’s the bush and river that keeps me grounded and at peace no matter what the circumstances are in my life.

Might have to think outside the box a bit. Culverts act as concentrators / sluice boxes. Detect old tailings. Do any of these rivers empty into the ocean? Would gold make it into the ocean in a large flood?

There is a chance you did get more smaller bits, but very small bits can float. When you dumped the water on the ground from your pan you possibly may has lost those bits.

Not bad for prospecting for new areas hopefully your still getting out to the areas you can’t film in and getting great gold so how do they know where you record are you required to add locations to your vids for them to see??? If that’s the case take footage of you sniping areas your allowed and then show us the gold you get from areas you can’t film won’t be quite the same but it would work lol.
