new fast-moving wildfire broke out in southern California’s Ventura County on January 13, sending firefighters and first responders to battle the massive blaze amid strong winds.
The fire, dubbed by local media as the “Auto Fire”, was first reported at around 7:45 p.m. (0345 GMT January 14) in the Santa Clara River bottom near North Ventura Boulevard and Auto Center Drive, according to the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD). As of 0445 GMT, the fire burnt an area of 5 acres while approximately 75 firefighters were on scene battling the raging fire, a social media post by the VCFD said.
