The fact that Rahdo keeps forgetting a bunch of stuff over and over again testifies that this game is a fiddly monster of a game with a TON of stuff to keep mental track of.
Hi Richard 👋 Recently bought Teotihuacan and this expansion. Thank you for sharing your insights! Regarding "bumping", you may find this interview with Daniele Tascini of interest. In it, he suggests several rules were changed by the Publisher, seemingly without his blessing. In his original rules, players ARE allowed to unlock their own worshippers: "I highly recommend playing it by my rules... in the rules it is written that you cannot unlock your own dice in the position of worship... Instead you can do it, otherwise locking the dice becomes inconvenient." Edit: YT removed the link to the discussion on BGG. If you search for "Interview with Daniele Tascini and rules introduced by the editor" you'll be taken straight there.
@@rahdo Hi Richard 👋Update: New advanced variants have been added to the new Deluxe Master Set rulebook (p.10 & p.19), which completely change how Worship "bumping" works. Players now *receive* one cocoa for bumping an opponent's worship. Players can also bump their own workers for free. This makes the Worship action more attractive and more viable as a strategy. Curious to hear your thoughts.
i haven't played it enough to say, but if you ask here: boardgamegeek.com/boardgameexpansion/270364/teotihuacan-late-preclassic-period/forums/0 i'm sure you'll get some good observations :)
in light of recent comments by the designer what are your thoughts of buying his games, is there a separation of the game and the person or are they joined at the hip
i think he earned back a lot of good will after being very introspective and committing to making positive change: facebook.com/daniele.tascini/posts/10221892268408297?__cft__[0]=AZWKw83i7EyvBlcuCRqMT8UOlMx2awEJg3Xdw0Ls2fuGPYmM6gkEM8I3z04eAns3LlJsc42Pb6sraVEv52KRdjsqvFrITaMRtcjCg4A1iz6lugUmJsALpOcOOLgoCUrFKS8&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R and facebook.com/daniele.tascini/posts/10221931774115915?__cft__[0]=AZWXd_2RfXVGeJ7qJKOtXCa5sOb1sAj71ZXho4RCFa1aRcDMtWP0u-erZzk3MdiixJGa0QQQUGZlY_yn9RfbRB4YH255nw9ybw6iDkaCuwlkWSXs99sroLE1dk_MBQ4q6ME&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R
Like Richard said in the start of the video, please turn on the Klingon subtitles to be notified on screen when a goof is made... if you had done that you would've seen it in the screen that he forgot to pay the 2 stone
i assume so, but i haven't played enough to say. you're best off asking over here for more experienced feedback: boardgamegeek.com/boardgameexpansion/270364/teotihuacan-late-preclassic-period/forums/0
He is like the nut chasing squirrel from Ice Age after being awoken from a bender by an adrenaline needle to the heart who slams 6 Red Bull and begins chasing his own tail around a tree while doing a bump of cocaine.

that's great news and it's about time! :)
Hey Rahdo, great video. You are a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y right about worshipping and bumping. I think I will make it a houserule.
I'm so hyped for this expansion, especially after this video :)
Definitely a must have
That must have been a record for Klingon subtitles corrections! XD
can't let paulo go soft! constant vigilance! :)
Hey Rahdo, thanks for the rundown. Do you have a feeling that some special powers are overpowered?

@@rahdo thank you for answering, I already did some research, I just like to hear what you have to say :)
Have you tested your bumping idea to see how it plays out? Certainly enjoy your take on a potential fix that was missed out on.
nope, no time for variant testing here. always gotta move on to the next game :)
Understood. Guess I’ll need to look into this to see how it plays out next time it’s on the table. =)

Hey Rahdo will you review the second expansion? Its a pretty small one but it has some juice.
i will if they send me a review copy (fingers crossed) :)
What the hell is a cay-cow?
basically coco beans
ca·ca·o (kəˈkou, kəˈkāō)- seeds from a small tropical American evergreen tree, from which cocoa, cocoa butter, and chocolate are made
House Rule the Worship Bump.
