Hate to burst people’s bubbles but they were just doing it for the show. Ji Hyo has dated guys outside of the show while her and Gary were a love live. The love line was just to help boost viewer ratings and make the show more interesting. Neither were actually in love with each other they were just being professional.

At first its obvious that Gary has intention to Ji Hyo but Ji Hyo think that it's only for work and keep ignoring gary and she also said that she likes HaHa that time, but in the end Ji Hyo fell inlove to Gary when its too late, she fell in love to Gary when Gary dating a girl (which is his wife now) If you watch Running Man you can see that Gary always approach Ji Hyo at first but Ji Hyo keeps ignoring him but when Gary about to quit RM it seems like he's not interested anymore to Ji Hyo and that time Ji Hyo has feelings for him, well, repentance is in the end.
