Good morning Scott & everyone, turned out not to be too bad for railfanning in Hamilton Scott. Its always worth it for the caboose & geep! Fab shot of N/S changing tracks awesome close up. Well getting colder in Ohio -7 isxa bit fresh way too cold for me, its 44f here this morning the snow finally gone & getting milder. Stay warm & see you on the next ine Scott. ❤🤗👍
Thanks Carol! It got down to close to zero this morning so not as cold as they were predicting. It is supposed to warm up again by the weekend then back into the freezer next week. I just keep telling myself that we are just a day closer to Spring and that`s a good thing! Have a great day!
Yes Scott when they put a box car on a auto rack train it usually has car parts in it and they also will do that to make that train not run over 60 miles an hour so in other words if that auto rack train has one freight car on it it cannot run over 60 miles an hour I know a few engineers and conductors that got fired from Norfolk Southern when they started at precision railroading because of that and that also let the trainmaster know that they was not looking at the billboard at the crew change places where they tack up new rules daily. And that grain train, that baby show was rolling smooth. But anyway, my friend thank you for getting out there in that cold weather to bring us a video to watch for Tuesday and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one.
Thanks Timmy! That`s interesting about the box car in the autorack train. We have wind chill here tomorrow of 20 below zero coming. I`ll be sitting tomorrow out, that is too darn cold for me! I am ready for Spring. Send some of that Louisianna warmth up our way! Lol
Thanks Rick. Yes that is one thing cool about Hamilton. You can get close to the tracks just standing on the street and get a good view of them changing tracks! Hope you`re feeling better!
You make a good point Dale, but I think I would take the mosquitoes right about now! Wind chill is near 20 below at the moment! I`m sitting in the recliner today! Lol
Thanks Margie! It was very cold and windy here today, so I stayed home! Tomorrow we are expecting 4 degrees and wind chill of 20 below zero. I`ll be sitting out again tomorrow. I an handle the cold but when the wind starts blowing like it does here, well I`m done. Lol
Cool! You bowl! I miss bowling. My back and shoulders have made it impossible to even enjoy that sport. That's a fun sport and a great pastime to spend with friends and make new friends. I enjoyed this one, Scott. I never get tired of that Geep and caboose there in Hamilton.
Thanks Mike! Yes, I have been bowling since I was about 12 or 13 in leagues. I quit for a few years and then a buddy talked me into coming back. I average 190 -193 most years, but as I get older it gets a little harder on me each year! Lol
@ I recall when I was in my 20s my average was in the 190s. There were some remarkable games now and then, but my buddies and I were just playing for a fun night out. I never did play leagues. Our love of bowling kept us out of trouble on weekend nights. We’d catch a flick and/or bowl a few games, then “cruise the gut” (usually “parked the gut” and watched everyone else burning gasoline while we could talk to all the girls cruising by) for a few hours, then wind down at Denny’s before heading home between midnight and 2:00 a.m. before the grownups came to Denny’s for the bar rush. LOL
We've got that below zero stuff up here in Rhinelander right now and it's supposed to be here for a few days. Highs in the single digits with lows in the teens below, thats °F BTW. Some frigid but excellent Hamilton action, liked it a lot. Thanks Scott!
Thanks Pat! Yeah, it was around zero here this morning and it hasn't warmed up much. I'm staying in today. I figure I just got over feeling lousy and I'm not gonna tempt fate again and feel like crap for another.3 days! 😂 Try to stay warm up there!
Good made video, mr 1960gambit. All clean grain cars after the NS locomotives. But corn on the top of the grain cars. By us in the port of Amsterdam no way mister the top was clean. Also by wheat, soyabeans, lupine and all other stuff whe loaded for transport to other countries in Europa. Thx for this topvideo 🚆🚆👌👍💪💪👍👌🚆🚆 in Hamilton Ohio. Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
Nasty weather. Sometimes I wonder why I've been working outside for over 30 years. First warm day in March and I will remember. 😂 watching as I'm thawing 😊❤
I know what you mean. I didn`t go out today because of the cold ad it`s going to be worse tomorrow. They are talking wind chill of close to 20 below in the morning. That means this `ol boy ain`t going anywhere!
Appreciate you getting out in the frigid temps for some nice catches Scott! But at some point the novelty of the brisk air wears out real quick! LOL! Take care out there and I'll catch you on the next installment! 🚂🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Thanks Jim! Yep, I didn`t go out today because it was windy and 20 degrees. Too cold for me. The cold I could handle, but when that wind starts blowing around 20 mph, I`m done. We got wind chills coming tomorrow of 20 below zero. I`ll be sitting it out again! I`m so ready for Spring!
Good one Scott, in spite of the slow day. I had never noticed that Georgia Railroad emblem on that local locomotive before and thanks for calling it out. I know I knew it but couldn't bring it out. I tried enlarging it as much as I could on the PC and then on the phone but still couldn't read it. Then I played it a bit further and you told us. Sorry it was so cold but thank you for braving the cold to get it.
Thanks Lou! Yes, I have seen that locomotive before. Tey use it there all the time. I`m going to have to get closer to the track next time and try to get a better shot of the decal. I didn`t go out today because it was very cold and windy. Tomorrow is going to be much worse with wind chill at 20 below zero. I`ll be staying home for sure. The cold I can handle but when that wind starts blowing 15 mph or higher, it gets brutal. The wind today was blowing above 20 mph and the snow started drifting. I am ready for Spring!
Scott those green ones on 502 from what i've found out are a clam shell covered trash car! the dump site has a rig that picks the car up and tilts it on it's side to dump it out and the clam shells open automatically, the reporting mark says they belong to the city of Spencer but it don;t give a state just the city of Spencer!! i see the conductor had some sense and was in the caboose today!! those boxcars, the only thing i can think of for them is they're hauling replacement parts for the car lot shop to fix cars!!
That's interesting, I hadn't thought about how those cars work! I agree with the guy in the caboose. It is too cold to be out there riding on the platform for sure! Interesting on the town name. The only Spencer I can think of off the top of my head is in North Carolina!
Thank you. Snow, sun and trains. Perfect Ingredients. Always good seeing the local with the caboose. Great videos. Thanks
You`re welcome Alex! Have a great day!

I`m trying! Bring on Spring! Lol
Excellent! Thanks for getting out in the cold to bring us this awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Good video Scott
Thanks Greg!
As we always say in the Northland; “At least the mosquitoes aren’t biting today!” Stay warm.

Nice trains in Hamilton Scott. Thanks for braving the cold for us. Stay safe and as warm as possible. Minus 7 is extreme cold to me. ❤

Thanks Roelof! Yes, the corn was frozen in the snow on the top of the car. It was easy to see with all that white snow! Lol

Time to railfan in Florida!
You know it! Lol
Thanks Scott.
You are welcome!

4:19 and they had to ruin my SP autorack. Blast it.
They ruin a lot of things!
@@1960gambit boy howdy.
