Juniper Mist Access Assurance (NAC)

This video is an update on Juniper Mist Network Access Control (NAC), which was launched a year ago. This cloud-based NAC integrates with Juniper Mist and third-party network devices. Over the past year, they have seen significant growth, with hundreds of production customers across various sectors. They have implemented 14 software updates without operational impact.
The NAC solution simplifies end-to-end posture validation for managed clients by integrating with MDM or UEM platforms. Compliance status is checked via cloud-to-cloud integration, granting network access based on compliance. The visibility of client history and authentication details is consolidated in the MIST dashboard.
Also discussed is their integration with Eduroam for higher education, leveraging MIST Edge as a gateway. They support Eduroam federation and open roaming, enhancing the user experience by facilitating cellular-to-Wi-Fi transitions.
For device onboarding, MIST is introducing a PKI service with an onboarding portal linked to single sign-on (SSO). This app provisions devices with certificates and Wi-Fi profiles, and integrates with the Marvis client for enhanced telemetry and visibility.
High availability and site survivability are also highlighted. MIST has deployed access assurance pods globally and introduced a site survivability concept where a local MIST Edge caches authentication data to maintain operations during internet outages.
