    My jaw dropped when that woman said her husband died during her 2nd year of medical school. So sad...

    It really would have been nice to see some older non-traditional students.

    I like this it's so honest and raw in a good way. I was homeless for a bit in college and I was and still am ashamed of it and how I got there but I'm proud of myself and how I got out of it.

    Who’s watching this in 2020 during coronavirus? These young people are now the physicians who are in the most danger of getting covid19. Thank you for everything you do to keep the population safe!

    Crying at 5:37, it's so easy to be ashamed when you see "perfect" students applying beside you.

    I’m always worried about being judged as a non-traditional student. This made me feel more confident.

    Thank you so much for this! I am in Human Resources and I am having a major career crisis right now. I feel that my career choice was really wrong for me. I want a career where I am of true service to others. Something that is a real challenge, and a career in medicine is really calling out to me. My under grad degree was in sociology, and I think I will go back for a post-bac in premed.

    Anthony Lim, Libby McNiven, Lucy Ogbu-Nwobodo were AMAZING!! I think my personality is more like Melissa. We both have to work on being more friendly, lol. I'm so proud of Libby for not letting life engulf her!

    How the hell do you get into UCD without having close to 4.0 gpa? My GPA wasn't the greatest 8 years ago..it was mediocre.

    great panel and discussion...however,
    these are babies........hardly unique. There are many middle-aged persons who have taken on medical school, PA, NP programs.
    would have been more impactful and diverse, to have at least one over 35 panel participant .

    Unique, eh?

    • @coppersulphate002
      @coppersulphate002 8 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      yes its unique! most women would abort or drop out of the program. Not many women are able to do what she did especially applying to medical school!!!
