The city dates back all the way into biblical times. It's famous about Saul who, was a Jew who persecuted very early Christians, travelling the road to Damascus when all the sudden Jesus Christ showed Himself. When Saul finally came to Damascus he changed his mind about Jesus and became a Christian himself. He accepted Jesus, thus Paul was created. This is the book of Acts in the New testament. It is not a legend. Paul was a real person. It can be found to be true through the many many letters that he wrote. It's up to the reader to decide whether they believe it or not but it is not a legend he was an actual historical figure.
@@robertobonano3464 Some may even claim an older history But yes It was a major city in Assyrian Times and the Umayyad mosque (I'm which was a church and before that a Roman temple ) was a temple for the Assyrian God Hodad
@@alisalloum9893 I'm still doing research on the subject, but I would not be surprised to find out that most of this very old cities in the Middle East and North Africa were built by descendants of the Biblical NOAH. 😀

@hussami khaldoun Dear - every site in Syria was a historic place dating back to the beginning of civilation. We're not here to recite the succession of any site construction, but it was meant as a reminder for everyone who mentions the Omayyad Mosque as Sine quo non of Damascus as if things in Damascus started with the mosque, not to belittle it's grandeur and current importance. The Aramic temple was is the site of the cathedral, but was much smaller in construction (temple vs cathedral), but the mosque has the same size as the cathedral with few additions !!!
Damascus still looks 100% like this. I was in Damascus last summer and will be going there this summer too. Life's going on as usual, the war in most of Syria is over, and it was pretty much untouched from war.
Can any one make a video guide of a city like Damascus which is only 9 min long ?? Is that enough to cover such an important historical site ???? What were you thinking to cover only a fraction of such a city ?? This is a disservice !!!!
I thought this city was pretty much destroyed already. And at some time in the future bible says will be no more. Can anyone answer this? An inform me please.
Regarding Damacus ..... Isaiah 17:1-14 and Jeremiah 49:23-27, Google Lamb and Lion Ministries article by Dr. David R Reagan. This in not the only place I heard of this. Just that he teaches not preaches. You can always goggle Bible subject and get verses.
No, Damascus itself wasn't that much destroyed...only cities in Eastern and Western Ghouta that were completely devastated 🤷🏽♀️let alone the fact that these records belong to the period before 2011 (I live in Damascus so you better trust me in this. Lol)
Damascus have survived, most of the distraction was in the areas near to it like the suberbs, but Damascus it self is mostly still the same as before the war

Correction of one mention: the Omayyad Mosque used to be the Cathedral but was converted to a mosque by muslims after Islam came to Syria

Each monument has its own identity. Why human beings are destroying this historic identities.
Read the HOLY BIBLE from GENESIS to REVELATION explains why satan abd his demons want to destroy everything that GOD JESUS CHRIST created.
