My 2 most beloved sports heroes are Stan the Man Musial and Kurt Warner........ And not far behind is Dick Vermeil...... What an outstanding human being , deserving of all accolades and all the love he receives SO SO SO VERY HAPPY Vermeil got the news from Kurt Woooooooow thanks to dick vermeil for all he brought to saint louis and me Kurt and Dick- thank you for so many joyful moments you shared with us ❤
@@chrishansen7356 you’re right Chris and there are better QB’s then Staubach & Bradshaw and running backs then Franco Harris and Marion Motley but there in. But when it comes to catching kid fuckers there’s nobody better then Chris Hanson and we thank you for that sir!!!
Like they said in his episode on A Football Life, "He was as demanding as you could be as a head coach, but also as compassionate as you could be as a human being." Once again, his hard work finally paid off
I've been waiting for this for decades, and was SO excited because I expected the patented emotion and tears from Dick at his speech, but he acknowledged that he purposely avoided certain topics that would get him crying. So while his speech was pure class in basically just shouting everyone out and giving them the accolades, I was very bummed out not getting to see that part, though I of course understand and respect his choice. That said, this was great to see, as it showed that side of him that we all love so much.
One of the greatest memories of my childhood was my Eagles smoking the cowboys in the 1980 NFC Championship game. We didn't win the Super Bowl but so be it, great coach and an even better human being. Much deserved, glad to see Dick Ferrell get his flowers while he's still here to smell them!!
FINALLY!. This should have happened years ago. Dick Vermeil is one of the greatest head coach. Such a great players coach. He really was their for his player. Nurturing them and trying his best. He coached and gave chances to alot of no names that would become HOF'ers themselves. This guy is not only a great coach but also one of the nicest people honestly. They don't make 'em like him anymore. This guy has more to say about his players and owners than himself. So humble. I hope they make a movie about him.
Well-deserved. Not only a great coach, but a great manager of people. He understood the human element. You get these coaches who are about plays and stats, etc. In the end, it's what you have inside. Intelligence, heart, willing to sacrifice for something bigger than yourself. Dick Vermeil instilled that in his players.
As a life long Eagles fan this man will always have a special place in my heart! An incredible coach and an even better man! Thank you for never changing!
I was born in Vietnam. Came over in 75 and lived in MN. My first love was for the MN Vikings. My second love was for the Eagles. Why? I saw a game on TV (can't recall who they played against). I saw an interview with Coach Vermeil. Right away, I was a fan. Can't explain what I saw. Can't explain why. It was his emotions. It was his demeanor. It was something about him that made me a fan. I became a fan of the Eagles. Vermeil...Too Tall Charmichael, Wilbur Montgomery, Ron Jaworsky, Bill Bergey, etc. I rooted for those guys. I witnessed the Vikings lose the SB was heartbreaking. But had so much joy when the Eagles made it in 1980, only to lose...AGAIN..to the Raiders. He's a great man. I am glad he got this chance.
My favorite coach ever. From a 15 year old kid who believed the Eagles would beat Dallas in the 1980 NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TO NOW A HOF COACH N PERSON .Love ya Coach. God bless you.Phily will never forget you
The best part about being at the pinnacle of success is being able to turn around from that singular moment and seeing all those players, coaches, and family spread across a vast expanse and feeling that love for them returned in an incalculable measure that is not able to be put into words. Whew! Way to go coach Vermeil. HOF'er.
Yes! Dick was one of the best coaches in the NFL. He really showed true compasion. Even now he was so humble to thank Warner for everything. They know it. Player and Coach. He coached a lot of good ones. Green, Holt, Warner, Faulk, etc.
Best coach in St Louis sports and of all time and an even greater human being. I was lucky to grow up in St Louis and have him and the rest of the greatest show on turf be my role models. I know he's getting up there in age so I'm just so glad he is in. Now they just gotta get Torry Holt in. And I pray Vermeil will be there for his introduction. Best coach ever man
Coach Dick was the only guy that saw the potential in Kurt, and his coaching helped to produce what is the greatest undrafted story in NFL history. This one has been long overdue if you ask me. Now let's get Torry Holt into the Hall, so everyone from the Greatest Show can have their legacies remembered forever in Canton 🙏
You are right. Literally every single NFL executive passed on him or cut him and Vermeil was the ONLY one, even in the Rams org, that saw something special.
Dick Vermeil's house could be a museum of greatness of all the people whose life he touched that is so awesome and thats really what its about not the money or the glory.
I love Vermeil's house! He had enough money to buy a McMansion in the suburbs, but he'd rather live out his golden years deep in nature with 80 acres in a log cabin home. Good taste on how to live!
Dick Vermeil reminds me of Pete Carroll. Both from Northern California, both coached in the PAC 10/12 with UCLA and USC respectively, and both took two downtrodden organizations in the NFL to a much needed Super Bowl Championship. Thus, I believe Pete Carroll will be in the NFL HOF also lol.
He also reverted fortunes for the Eagles, despite no Super Bowl. He came to a team that won 2 or three times the season before his signing and had no first, second or third round picks in the ensuing draft
2032, Tom Brady approaches a lakeside mansion in the heart of North Carolina's lacrosse country. He knocks, the door opens, he looks in the eyes of a man wearing a cashmere turtleneck sweater with the sleeves cut off and cries out "Coach!". Bill Belicheck takes a step back, draws his breath, and answers "Who the hell are you?" Then he notices the cameras and realizes what must be happening, his entire demeanor changes and he says "we're on to Cincinnati".
It's part of his journey, no doubt. The Book says that God write things right through crooked lines. Kurt is one of the best examples. No better history in the league

❤
the only man that saw what Kurt Warner really was...well deserved...still calls him coach too
Will ALWAYS call him coach.
Eternally referring to their coach as 'Coach' is not unusual for any player.
Vermeil deserves everything coming to him. Great coach, great friend and most of all great guy. He's still revered in Philly
Kurt is so proud, well deserved!
U can tell by his voice
One of the realest coaches ever in football.
What a sweet interaction between the two of them.
Won’t find a better man/coach then Dick Vermeil. What he did with Phil & St Louis was incredible. Congrats Mr Vermeil on a HOF career !!!
We Chiefs fans dont look lightly on his contributions there either.
There’s better coaches than vermeil. That’s why the HOF is a joke

Plus, he did great at UCLA.
Dick Vermiel was never shy about showing his emotions.........it's a beautiful thing.
he truly coached with his heart...
Like they said in his episode on A Football Life, "He was as demanding as you could be as a head coach, but also as compassionate as you could be as a human being." Once again, his hard work finally paid off
I really love this quote.
Man it’s going be lot of tears flowing when Coach V speak at Canton in August 2022 4sure.
I love coach V, he’s just emotional and love the game.
his speech is one of the best I've ever seen

Life-time Cowboys fan,...I love these moments, regardless of team. Beautiful stuff.

“Hell I love you I don’t appreciate you, I love you”
He’s such a gem.

Coach V should have never left the Rams. Him and Warner were an awesome Duo that should have stuck around.
Probably would’ve won super bowl 36 if he stayed….
I agree with this
Nope, we enjoyed him in KC
Agreed
I Still Think Kurt Should Have Reunited with Dick in KC Instead of Going to the Giants

Great Coach! First Class Person! Congratulations Coach Vermeil!!
Diggin’ coach’s crib!! Well deserved induction. Great content.

I'm so happy for Coach Vermeil. Than man won big everywhere he coached. Such a class human being. Congratulations, sir.

Congrats coach. Well deserved
The Vermeil's have one beautiful house. And Congrats to you Coach Vermeil on your Induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The most caring & vulnerable coach i've ever seen...this man shows he cares & that is appreciated. Happy it happened to him
One of my favorites!
That's a good man right there. Loved in Philly forever.
About time! Congrats!
what a great person. truly not many like him. congrats coach
My city St. Louis was lit when we had kurt and dick
Helluva coach but a better human being
So heartwarming. Love it
I’m not even a big football fan but these are so beautiful.❤
good man....well deserved....always knew that he cared...
Without you! What a story....the greatest NFL team in the history of football.. the 99 RAMS!
GREATEST SHOW ON TURF......
A really good man!
Most HOFers seem to think of people when they receive this great honor
Two of the World's Premier Good Guys
🥹 such a wholesome man
He should’ve been in long time ago! Congrats coach

That is a nice house
Hey…he did it…whatever you want it to be
What a king just waiting on the front porch of his cabin 😂
Dick is always cryin. Lol. Bless his heart.
Long overdue. Like Branch.

This potential scenario probably isn't a million miles from the truth!
Imagine having a manager like Dick!
To me, Kurt will always be an Iowa Barnstormer.
BTW I do not mean that in a negative manner.
It's part of his journey, no doubt. The Book says that God write things right through crooked lines. Kurt is one of the best examples.
No better history in the league
Someone get Kurt a jacket that fits.
Really fitted was in at this moment.
His cute cabin is just perfect for him!
