That's exactly the kind of spot that the M8 coil is great to have in your arsenal. I hunt a few places like that and the M8 is absolutely perfect for target infested spots ... picks out those good tones mixed in with all the trash.🙂
Any day a silver is found is a good day. I've been doing this for 30+ years, I find doing the sidewalks, a lot of glass tends to be in the ground, so I use protective gloves. Probably no good for you as it would make filming a whole lot harder. Sidewalks are normally quite trashy area's, so I find a smaller coil gives me better results. I can honestly say I've found more silver with my small coil than any other.
Tried out the deep high conductors today in a spot I know I've hunted hard with my Xterra and the 15" coil and my hunting partner has looked with his 600 not to mention several other detectors we've had over the years. Once I edited the tones a little more to my liking I did pretty good ,couple wheats and a Merc that was every bit of 8" in some pretty mineralized soil. I was impressed. Interesting note is silver reads lower on that program than general all terrain. Nice find on the silver it's a good day anytime you find it.
Yes ! Curb strips are usually trashier but I dug my oldest coin in one ! 1816 matron head largie 😊first year matron 😎great advice on being picky with your targets John 👍
I agree, curbstrips are a great place to find silver coins and other items but it's just a bit too nerve racking to me with all the cars and people watching. I enjoyed the quiet hunts. Enjoy the video John.
Would love a video of your settings on the manticore, I can't find silver coins for some reason countless wheat penny's, indian heads large cents dating back to the 1790s but not 1 silver.
John have you had any complaints from homeowners hunting the tree lawn sidewalk areas. In my area in Ohio it`s considered city property. But we in most cases are to keep it up?
I live in Michigan. I wonder how I go about laws concerning detecting sidewalks? And what to do if a homeowner comes charging out of their house wondering what the heck I’m doing
So went out and finished my sidewalk tear out. Got 2 silver dimes. Then a guy came and yelled at me saying I was suspicious & trespassing. Threatened to call the cops. I was calm & explained what I was doing. He cussed. I left. I was done anyways. Found out he is not the property owner but a renter. Curb to sidewalk is public access. How do you handle this type of situation? Only happens when I am not wearing my chest cam too!
There's been several videos posted recently 25+ minutes long. Those are usually our Wednesday videos, these are quick short videos. Thanks for watching!
Congrats on that first hole! And that near traffic you should be wearing a yellow vest... Because if you don't, and somebody hits you, you have no liability asset. Sorry for being fatherly.
@2:30 UH-OH! Somebody dropped a dime on you! 🤣🤣🤣🤯

Hello John,Mike,Gary and Philip
Tried out the deep high conductors today in a spot I know I've hunted hard with my Xterra and the 15" coil and my hunting partner has looked with his 600 not to mention several other detectors we've had over the years. nice little hunt ! if my weather would let up id try to sneak in a quick one ! still havent gotten my May silver 🥲
That’s a good year silver and I went out detecting Monday, it was cool out here, Ga
Great way to find lost car keys too!

Noise cancel under those lines John. Takes 5 seconds😂
CONGRATULATIONS ❗ first find Silver!!
Some of my best finds have come from curb strips! Nice job!!
Just a suggestion, maybe try the small coil on those curb strips. I use the 6” on my 900 and my son is getting one for Manticore
Nice hunt for a cool evening. Great find for the first beep. Keep digging that beep.
I have a Minelab nox900. It always seems to struggle to get solid coin tones. When I dig wheaties, they always bounce between 70 and 90.
its always nice just to get out you never know what you will find.. nice job.
Way to go John , enjoyed 👍
For me, I always pray I'll find the silver sooner than later. 😉😁 Happy Hunting!
I found a 1974 penny a 2003 dime and a 1964 dime coin spill less than one inch in the ground in my neighbors yard built in 1970s
Great hunt as always.
Thanks

I just skip that section and move on, if cops are called I show them what it is that I'm doing and they say carry on.
@digthatbeep the guy actually reached out via Facebook and apologized. I guess there is hope after all. HH, GL and To the Lost! TheBandit
I’ve pounded the few sidewalks that are not in front of houses in my area. Even had the cops called to me once. Lol
If I did that in my town those sirens would be the police coming for me. Private property right to the curb.
I heard that police car siren and looked to see if Mike was speeding by...:-). I am sure you enjoyed yourself!
What shovel are you guys using?
Predator Tools
It's illegal to metal detect sidewalks, schools, and parks in Colorado Springs, CO. Wish I could.
It's the same here in southern Maryland

Nice silver, but i dont know how you cope with that constant chattering.
Your videos are so darn short 👎 great content not enough of it

@digthatbeep That's right, that's right. Thanks for the reminder on the Wednesday vids!

Good hunt. i have a request. Please mute your detector when you dig and use your pin pointer. The chirping and chattering is very distracting. Thanks.
