    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, usually adjusting the drive belt will not effect the resistance. Why is the console not working? if you can change the resistance on the console and the wires and motor are operational then the bike should become more usable. I would repair/replace the console if you know what is wrong with it.

    03.012.22 - I just bought the same bike , my issue is the resistance is a little too tight for me 2 knee replacements so I'm going to loosen the adjustment a little.

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't loosen the drive belt if the resistance is too high. this will just cause the belt to slip and belt to wear out prematurely. Make an adjustment to your resistance mechanism. Most equipment uses a resistance mech like seen in this video. th-cam.com/video/B1J_i3k55Es/w-d-xo.html

      @@FitnessEquipmentHelp Yep that's what I did. loosened the resistance a little and it works well, latter as the legs strengthen I'll change it back. I had no idea that modern upright bikes come with the flywheel thingy's.

    After finally opening my machine, it seems there is no adjustable part. I'm in Japan so I assume the manufacturer doesn't expect buyers to tinker since DIY isn't common here. I don't think the belt is stretched out so I guess the bike isn't meant to be very challenging? So disappointed, but still appreciate your video.

    My bike has resistance from 1 to 20. When I increase or decrease resistance, it changes on screen but in reality its staying on 1 or 2. I have a similar Schwinn bike as shown in video. Please advise how to fix the resistance.

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If its battery operated the first thing I would do is make sure it has fresh batteries. If you believe the resistance mechanism is not working correctly i have found that usually a visual inspection finds the issue quickly.

    Your Demo shows the cover being removed so easily. However on the Trojan Shape 210 there is no where to remove the side covers. the pedals are very close. ??

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have any experience with that bike but it looks like the crank is very similar. All of these solid one part cranks should have enough clearance to remove the side shields over the crank arms. They had to be installed that way after all. there is likely a pest position for the crank arm. I would try moving the crank arm to different positions and you will also likely need to flex the plastic some what to "finesse" it off. I recommend doing it someplace warm as cold plastic is more prone to breaking.

    I have a similar model that will not detect movement when I start pedaling. It shuts off due to a lack of movement. Any idea how I might be able to fix this? Thanks in advanced

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      there is a movement sensor called the "reed switch" inside your equipment. it needs to be positioned to within about 1/8th of an inch from where the magnet on the crank pulley passes sensor bracket. Most user's manuals have instructions on how to adjust this sensor as it may need to be repositioned from time to time.

    I have a Reebok Rb 1000 (magnetic). It is running a little rough. Took apart but cannot see much wrong. Any ideas? Do I need to oil some parts? Do I need to tighten, it never slips. Also, look down at the cranks when peddling and they seem to be not in alignment (wonder slightly). I wonder if this is causing my hip pain. But they seem tightly on and no play.

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp

    I have just purchased the same bike in your video the pro form 135 csx and every time I pedal it makes a click/knock noise and I can feel it in the pedals. Is the belt too tight? I don’t think it’s loose because it doesn’t seem to slip. I’m really frustrated being I just bought it 5 days ago. Any help would be much appreciated.

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the occurrence of the noise is always at a certain point in the revolution then it is likely related to the crank or possibly the pedals. I don't think the belt would be too tight. Over tightened belts do put excess pressure on internal components like the bearings. I would first loosen the belt. the best belt tension is as loose as possible but not so loose that it slips. If it gets too loose and slips, tighten it it up just enough to correct the slipping .

    do you know how to fix the squeaky noise from the seat stem? I notice there is a plastic sleeve between the stem and the base, and I think the noise must be coming from there. I have already tried to lubricate all related parts.

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything moving that is not supposed to can cause a noise. making sure everything is tight is the best way to eliminate noise. if the parts cant be tightened because the bushing is damaged or worn out then I would recommend replacing the seat post bushing.

    my belt is too tight - however there are only two screws insode not three. any tips?

    • @FitnessEquipmentHelp
      @FitnessEquipmentHelp  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The video may not match every model precisely, but should indicate the general procedure for most models. To adjust the tension of the belt on most late model exercise bikes you will need to remove the side shields to access the belt tensioner. Most belts are tensioned with an idler pulley pressing against the belt. Loosen any bolts that may be holding the idler arm then adjust the position of that arm. Lock the arm into place then replace the side shields. Your user's manual may have specific instructions for your model. Do be careful when loosening the drive belt on your bike. A belt that is too loose will slip when pedaled.
