Thank you for producing and sharing an entertaining and informative multimedia documentary exploring the historical context, environmental benefit, and ongoing construction of the Quequechan River Rail Trail.
+Don Gagnon Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! :) As time & weather permits, I may do a further update; already have taken quite a few ground-level photos of some of the construction progress. Looking forward to riding it (I ride the East Bay & Blackstone Valley Trails in RI a lot, when the weather permits!).
+Tom Lapointe You're welcome! I appreciated the update. I'm glad the project has sustained popular support. Recalling how much I've enjoyed riding the East Bay Bike path makes me look forward with even greater anticipation to the completion of Quequechan River Rail Trail construction.
I was just there today.. what a beautiful place... I'm so glad that the people of Fall River can enjoy the Quequechan River once again.... the 195 project was one of the worse crimes committed to our city in my opinion
Mass Coastal Rail Videos Glad you enjoyed it, Mike! :) Wanted to get some visual documentation of the trestles before they were removed, and the aerial videos give a different perspective. As a railfan, sad to see them go; but eagerly anticipating rolling down the old right-of-way on my recumbent trike when the trail is completed about a year from now. There was a passing siding on the section of the branch built on fill rather than trestles (not visible in the video, it was completely overgrown); one of the tracks is to be preserved as a historical exhibit beside the trail. IF I ever find the video I had of the McDonald's passenger car movement (it went down the old spur to the Frito-Lay plant that used to be where WalMart's now located), I will post it; unfortunately my girlfriend years ago re-arranged all of my VHS tape collection in the interests of "interior decorating", so God only knows where that tape is now! ;) By the way, that spur is NOT slated for bike trail development; the turnout for it was on a trestle itself, which has already been removed to be replaced with a bike bridge. The spur went into Frito-Lay on ANOTHER trestle (curved); it's still in existence, but very difficult to see unless you know where to look. The spur came into the back of the WalMart property near the rear of the WalMart building, there's a huge sign near that location, but the reeds in the wetlands nearby are so tall they obscure any view of it. Tom
Oh ok thanks for the info! You could make some money if you take the old tape and make a dvd. I'm sure alot of other local buffs would pay to see it. I guess that the passenger car movement train avoided most of the trestles due to their condition. Thanks! Mike
Mass Coastal Rail Videos I'll have to check, Mike. Just bought a couple of huge bookcases & in the middle of re-organizing my personal library, including my Shoreliner collection; if I come across it, I'll let you know what specific issue it's in. ;) Tom

Great video! I'm also doing updates on this trail! You should upload the footage of the McDonald's Car movement over this line.

+Mass Coastal Rail Videos Also, do you know what issue of the Shoreliner had the article on the Watuppa branch?
