As a regular to the Severn Valley I know quite a bit about the line. Both the Jinty and Lady Armagdale have worn a Thomas guise for DOWT events, the black 5 was always Henry, the black 5 is the same one which hauled the first and last leg of the Fifteen Guinea Special, and has the honour of being the final steam engine to finish up work on British Railways and the LMR always played the character whose name it shares. I remember when their flagship loco, GWR hall class, Hagley Hall, was on display before it began being restored, they are also working on restoring 4150, the last engine they rescued from Barry scrapyard to be restored, and are working on a new class 3MT 2-6-2 tank engine as all the originals were scrapped. They are also working on a replica Catch me Who Can engine, which can steam but needs brakes, as the original, by Richard Trevithick, was also built at Bridgenorth. The story of the line is quite similar to that of many other lines, with it being closed under Beeching, and people banding together to reopen it. The first passenger train under preservation, between Bridgenorth and Hampton Loade, was hauled by Great Western 0-6-0 3205. The gift shop at the Engine House holds lots of childhood memories for me, as I often got Thomas merch there, including most of my Story Library books.
