Seeing the snow being thrown is such a beautiful sight. Truly, you are living in a winter wonderland. Thank God for these machines that allows us to live in these beautiful places.
GP, buy SAE 30 Oil ( synthetic or Mineral ) and just cover that black exhaust soot over it with a paint brush and keep doing it 2-3 times just before, after a couples days you will able to removed it with a simple a rag or just like me I'm keep adding oil ( no corrosion on the Front Fel !!! ) Yes both mid and rear PTO are OUTSTANDING 👌👍🧐 Beautiful indeed 👍👌🧐 HAve a great week GP Cheers 🍻👍👌😇
Hey good morning Dave! I never have a problem washing it off - When I wash the tractor, I just use Spray Nine and it come right off, like new. Have a great week Dave!
Greetings Gord, Lee here, great to have some snow to play with, to bad you couldn't put a mark on the yellow tub for marking the right height when the door is open to let the proper amount of sand out. You and your family keep well, later
Morning Lee! That's what I am hoping to do. I just need to use it enough times to decide where to put that mark. Thanks and enjoy the rest of the week!
Good Morning Gord, I hope you had a great Family Day weekend at the cottage! Short lived warmer temperatures and rain in the forecast, follow by colder temperatures later in the week. Have fun and be safe!! Cheers!
Love those bluebird days after the cold front comes through and leaves snow. In time I build up a base which gets about 6 inches thick of ice in the spring. Eventually we’ll have to get a sand spreader so Guests can visit. I’m in northern Michigan with a half mile driveway. I don’t have chains but I am able to get up the biggest hill on the driveway without them most of the time. Thanks for the tips
How's she goin'? That was nice snow for blowing eh!!! I like when it's like that and the trees look so nice and peaceful all decked out with the snow on the boughs!!! It's great to have the spreader and like you say, having a mid and rear PTO makes blowing and sanding as easy as anything!!! Nice job and thanks for sharing. Take 'er easy!!!
It's nice that the sand absorbs the sun's energy and melts the snow and ice. Wonder what other products to use with the same results for comparison. Lots of sampler snow and ice to set up tests
GP, looks really nice up there, blue skies, calm day, we're goin thru the ole freeze/ thaw. Had 50°F yesterday then two inches last night, then today, sun was out, snow melted.......again! Guess I'll be putting the bucket on and spreading stone to get outa the mud......again! Lol
Thanks for taking the snow hit for us Gord! Most of our snow is gone! We had heavy rain on Tuesday and again this coming Tuesday! The ups and downs of winter!
Another nice snow removal video - these are my favorites. We are forecasted to get from 8 to 14 inches in central MN over the next 2 days. Tractor and blower are ready when it comes. I do my 1/4 mile drive and 2 neighbor widows driveways. Just retired so now I can clear the snow in the daylight. What a treat! Stay warm and safe. Steve from Minnesota
Howdy Gord, sure glad you have the cab and equipment on the tractor for maintaining that long steep driveway. Enjoyed watching the video makes me ALMOST wish I lived in Colorado again. It sure is prettyful but it's also cold and lots of work that I once was able to do. Now I just watch you folks who are much younger and have the equipment to do the job. Thanks for sharing with us. Stay safe and have fun while you can. Fred.
Good morning Fred! Such a beautiful day for sure - but cold. LOL! I have never been to Colorado but a couple of friends moved there and love it there. Stay safe and wish you and your son all the best!
thats pretty handy you can run both ptos. that rain and then snow sure made a big mess here. still trying to get the back yard rink back in good order. had to use the roof shovel to pull all the snow off it so it would freeze up again.
Morning Kev! Maintaining a rink here is always a big challenge with the temp and weather swings throughout the winter for sure. Good luck - hope you get it back flat and smooth.
Looks like perfect snow conditions for removal. The 28" of snow we got 2 weeks ago is finally gone. I had to plow some of it on a section of my walkway and now I finally can walk the walk! Best Regards, & stay warm, Jay
Man that looks cold but awesome. We’ve gotten a bit of of that stuff here in SE Michigan recently but we’ve had quite a few sunny days also this winter which is unusual. Great video as always. 👍🏼
Sorry. I'm a native Californian so that white stuff that gets everywhere is weird. My question is why don't you salt those hills? Would it kill all the adjacent trees over time?
Morning Dave! Indeed. Here in Ontario, the cities and counties are moving away from using salt for the roads and highways - they use some type of spray now - for me, the sand has a small amount of salt in it but not for melting ice but to help stop the sand from freezing. Plus being in the forest , using salt is not good for the environment. Hope that helps!
That's a great question Ray. More and more , I understand, they are moving away from salt and using other chemicals(?) to replace it. We still use salt on our driveways and there are now other products that are not salt but I find them less effective ( and more expensive) so I stick to salt for my driveway at home. The sand I use at the cabin has a small amount of salt in it which is employed to help stop the sand from freezing.
Looks gorgeous up there, Gord! You’ve really got that blower/sander system working for you. I came up to my cabin yesterday with the snowmobile and ATV (the latter to plow). I had blown out my road a couple weeks ago with the tractor but took it back home. There was another 14” or so that I had to clear (my better half is coming up today) so I plowed last night in the dark. Beautiful evening - mild and lovely with the ATV lights shining on the snow covered forest. We’re going to get out on the snowmobile today and then hunker down Tuesday with books and coffee with the blast of warmth and rain that’s on the way. Have you had your snowmobile out this winter?
Morning Dave. I can picture myself in that frame. So pretty at night. I have only had it out once for a short run. So disappointing. I am hoping to get out at least once before it is too late. Have a great day out on the trails. and enjoy a little time up there with your wifey!
@@GPOutdoors You definitely need to get out on that sled before the season is done, Gord! Lots of snow now but spring isn’t far away. On Tuesday I managed to keep my better half on the back of the sled for over 160 km! A warm spell with rain was forecast that night but we ended up with 3/4” of freezing rain and ice pellets, plus another 3” of snow instead. Might get out with my son for another blast on the trails this weekend - Mazinaw I think 😁. By the way, I just received my GP Outdoors key ring. Please pass on my thanks to Kirsten for a great product at a fair price!
Hey GP wanted you to know watching you videos convinced me to upgrade to a b2601 from a bx. ? I have for you.. my b2601 has a land pride cb1060 combo bucket on it and when I get a bucket of dirt or whatever it won’t pick it up to the height it should.. I’ve seen your videos with a 450 pd grapple lift logs to full height.. any suggestions? Bucket is 360pds. Thanks any advice would be helpful
Morning Josh. Congrats on the bigger tractor. I wish I had a good answer but to perhaps talk to the dealer. You have seen over the many videos what I was able to lift with mine, and in regards to the bucket, I could always lift a full bucket of gravel, or sand and earth etc, without any trouble up to a proper carrying height. Have you checked your hydraulic oil level lately?
Thanks for reaching out GP.. and yes I have checked it just did first service on it. Was thinking if something needed to be adjusted like the hydro pump hope it’s something minor
Thank you GP awesome video as usual. Your great Personality with some great tips thrown in! Hey noticed some soot on your fender. Don’t know why these things smoke so bad. I’ve been using wd40 and it’s been working like a champ. Be curious to hear from you and some of your great subscribers what they have been using. Cheers
Morning Tom! I use "Spray Nine" - been using it for grease type stuff since my 20"s. All the automotive garages use it (or used to use it). I spray it a little bit and then continue washing with car soap and water. :)) Sparkling clean every time! I washed it back in the fall in one of the videos but can't remember which one. :)) Cheers!
Hi GP, gotta suggestion. Not sure it'd be worth your while, but I wonder if the box blade would be beneficial with breaking up the ice?? I'm thinking with the scarifiers set deep enough to penetrate the ice and break it up, it might work. Just thinking out loud.
Hey good day Dean. Great suggestion - it does , when the ice is not too hard. I have done it a few times in the past and it roughs up the surface really well in most conditions. Thanks!
GP , I have a question for you , or a viewer . My tractor tires are loaded with liquid, Agralim, the max pressure on the tire is 320kpa or 46 psi.I understand how to put air in loaded tires, jacked off ground ,valve at twelve o’clock. Question is , what pressure ? Google and multiple forums have left me with a migraine . Thanks
My tractor manual says for loaded tires 2psi more than recommended pressure if loaded with liquid ballast. So my rear’s are loaded and calls for 25psi so I have them at 27.
Hey GP, Have you ever had the auger shaft weld break from the chain gear? Have a 54" walco and it just happened the other day only moving 12" of snow at a slow speed too. It's going in for warranty anyway just wondering
