Peak condition + express rounds + sharpshooter 1 shot kill. I use fool me once, sharpshooter and peak condition and normally use snipers. I suggest for ppl that wants to snipe to use slow n steady not slippery. Turn it on when you shoot, and turn it off when you kill. Focus first isn’t necessary since express rounds and peak condition is 1 shot. If you want to avoid headshots, switch out fool me once with never without one.
You missed the fact for PVE slow and steady will stop your horse bucking you, so its literally the best pve card as most people will only change from pvp ability cards to hunt a legendary for crips. As soon as I hear the noise of the legendary I switch to slow and steady
Great video, watched the whole thing. I used it to develop a build of my favorites, balanced between PvP and pve. I'm using A moment to recuperate, strange medicine, iron lung, and winning streak. I know you dont like amtr for PvP, but ive found that after killing the other player in freeroam, (I dont do PvP modes), I have plenty of time to heal while they respawn and find me again. I think my build is nicely balanced for doing the pve content and fighting off griefers.
I'm a newer player, and when I saw this weeks discount. I decided buy all of the cards because I had the money. It is really nice to have all the cards, but now I have so many I have no idea which ones to focus on. This is an amazing video! THANK YOU for taking the time to do this.
i just have a loadout for healing my team with dead eye and having dead eye go on forever. ill be downing dead eye tonics in tumbleweed while my friends fight in annesburg, getting my healing
Great video! What about my gamemode posse PvE freeroam missions with griefers every 15 minutes trying to ruin my game? I use SnS/strange medicine/ironlung/foolmeonce. Any suggestions? Or is SlipperyB better as an PvE antigriefing card?
honestly i think focus fire is underrated. it should be atleast a tier. it does not drain more dead eye, unlike slippery bastard paint it black and those other ones. here are flaws with each one: PIB: Sometimes the when you misplace the targets, it is harder to hit the headshot or spot you want (if you could choose the targets urself, as it is in the story mode, that would be incredible overpowered). Slippery Bastrd: Drains way too much dead eye, aslo makes your accuracy decrease an insane amount too. So this card is useless in my eyes, unless you are trolling and want to get in real close. The one card that makes you survive headshots and take less damage when dead eye is active: this card drains too much dead eye, and also you cant move around, i thought u could atleast jog, but no just walk. focus fire: has no flaws at all. and especially on level 3, it does way significantly more damage each shot, and if you are close to posse members in a fight, they get bonus damage too. I use focus fire all the time, ive tried the other ones, it just doesnt suit my aggressive approach. also, what is you guys' setup? mine is: - Double Lemat (fully upgraded + express shots) - Lancester (fully upgraded + express shots) - Carcano Rifle (fully upgraded + high velocity shots) and lastly! i just want to say that i bought the black arabian today for 42 gold bars, and im proud :) gonna take real good care of it. if you read this far, have a good day
Agreed! I’m a total infant at the game, level 37, as well as FPS! I’ve slowed my network connection down so I stay in solo lobbies until I get better, which also means for now I’m just grinding through collecting and hunting so I can level up and buy better weapons. When I unlock ability cards I just stare at them and end up thinking screw it, I deal with it later. I did get the one that says I do more damage while I’m on my horse because I thought it might apply while hunting. Haven’t found the answer on that yet... 🤷🏻♀️
@@suzyq-zy216 slow and steady will stop predators from bucking you from your horse. Unblinking eye gives you longer Eagle and dead eye. There are some other useful cards for legendary animals, max damage output cards are the one for that.
For pve, I have quite an inspiration, sharpshooter, iron lung, and peak condition because of the great damage reduction, regeneration, and extra bit of damage. For pvp, I have focus fire, (or slippery bastard depending how good they are with aim assist) sharpshooter, landon's patience, and peak condition because it's the max damage loadout that can one shot any player with a carcano and express rounds as long as they dont have a tonic on, or they have level 10 health and have their health core all the way up (their cards can also make a difference), and because of sharpshooter's damage reduction
Awesome for sharing this video showing how to use the ability cards. I was able to copy what you had on the screen for future use. I am already in level 183, but still not sure how to use them. This an area that I have neglected on all my three different accounts I have (2 on PlayStation 5 and 1 one Xbox X series) on Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). I will definitely follow your advice. Thanks!!
One of the best videos I’ve seen that truly explains ability cards in depth. Happy to see I’ve been using the top recommendations in my personal load out too.
Focus fire with the right build hits like a truck Also half of the cards that are seen as useless or not that good are litteraly used for the max damage or max defense output
Honestly, any card can be useful depending on what other cards you have with it. My current load out is A moment to recuperate, Fool me once, Come back stronger, and Necessity breeds. While AMTR does get canceled when you take damage, you can just spam it every time it turns off which has saved me numerous times. It also really benefits FMO since the more times you get shot, the less damage you take. Along with the fact that it allows you to stay alive longer when your health is lower so NB gives you a big damage buff. CBS is just a reinforcer and backup for AMTR since it’s always active and makes your standard health regen faster.
what do you think about an ability card that is like slippery bastard only toned down, if you haven't dealt damage in 30 seconds time AI and people are 20% less accurate when aiming at you and prevents players from marking you in Paint it Black? This would upgrade to 30% and finally 50%. I think 30 second is long enough to not be abused by griefers but short enough to make an hide for a bit and make an escape. I'd call it something like Outlaws luck? Another idea I got would be a long arm slot item, you equip it like a long arm weapon in the weapon wheel, and when you are holding an animal that is small that goes on the side of your horse, you change the "ammo" of the sling to the animal you are holding and the animal goes on your back, similar item idea would be a second horse satchel, basically you can store items in there and it is the same size as your satchel, effectively doubling your satchel space. but not for tonics, bullets, dynamite etc. also maybe camping kit on horse? like when on horse you can make a small campfire in the woods to cook things on the go rather than a huge camp with cripps talking to you about the circus. last thing... weapon idea, shredding arrows, you can hold like 5 maybe, they do double damage compared to normal arrows and are crafted with arrow, feather and throwing knife, with a 10 second animation where the player pulls the knife apart, removing the wooden handle and swaps the arrowhead for the knife blade. this would be used to pierce armor, from alligator skins to armored NPC Enemies, they would not be retrievable unless it was the arrow that killed the target, and just straight up not retrievable from players. but in the end id honestly be happy with the ability to hold more fish both in my satchel and the big ones on my horse, maybe 3? because two could easily fit and the third could be on top nestled in between the other two. loved the vid hazard, keep it up.
i've been getting xp on every card, not upgrading them tho as they cost but it gives a cool twist to the game, and like promotes paint it black. But damn a high damage build is awesome, but so is a dead eye regenerating one.
I picked up the game a week ago, trying to find info about abilities and weapons and everywhere I look I see and hear "headshots are insta kill anyway" and "it has a longer lock on range." What am I supposed to do with guides like that if I am a free aim-no HUD player?! :D I guess I will just find my own way with some time.
I use iron lung, fool me once, never without one and a moment to recuperate, so I guess I was given good advice. I asked a friend what cards to use cause I was tired of getting one shored by other players
Even my friend (Fadedninja119) watches Hazard's videos and I enjoy his videos too because they are so instructive and the guy knows what he's talking about
Certain cards are used overly by greifers making them hated card. Slippery being one of the MOST hated, I have asked alot of players and that's the only card they say is the worst
I can understand why it’s hated but slippery has many things that counter it ranging from shotguns in close range, snipers, arrows with paint it black and bolas. I use the ability card and it’s literally the absolute best card in my book. If you pair it with sharpshooter iron lung and unblinking eye, it’s super efficient in dealing with numbers. It’s okay if people hate it but you’ve got to acknowledge it for what it is. It’s good at it’s job and it’s helped me from getting griefed by all seven in a posse. I’m telling you, I’ve put down many many many players with that card set up. I punish those that shoot first, by using bolas with slippery and setting their ass on fire. It’s amazing. It’s literally a anti get griefed and embarrass the clown that tried it card.
I got Paintitblack on II and Sharpshooter I, Peek condition I. I' at Lvl29 and rank 7 in bounty hunter. I use the Bolt Rifle with scope and repeating shotgun 95% of the time, never tough the gun. What do you recommend? Dont do the pvp, just pve and npc fight. I do alot of hunting though aswell but not in a roll. I have the carbine reapeter but rarely use and for small animals. Any tips?
This is my opinion on how ability cards should be ranked taking in consideration for PVE and PVP. I am a beta player who is almost level 950 on playstation with almost 100k player kills. And I don't even PVP as much as some of the tryhards out there. I am a free aim player even when I PVP. Tier III (Best cards) Paint it Black, Slippery Bastard, Sharpshooter, Hangman, Fool Me Once, Never Without One Tier II Slow and Steady, Focus Fire, Gunslinger's Choice, Winning Streak, Iron Lung, Peak Condition, Cold Blooded, Come Back Stronger, Eye for an Eye, Live for the Fight, The Unblinking Eye Tier I (Not completely useless and could be used in one or two situations) Quite an Inspiration, Landon's Patience, The Short Game, Strange Medicine, A Kick in the Butt, Friends for Life, Strength in Numbers, Hunker Down Tier 0 (Completely useless and should never be used) A Moment to Recuperate, Necessity Breeds, Ride Like the Wind, A Gift of Focus, Take the Pain Away, To Fight Another Day, Of Single Purpose
Agreed the info in video is not accurate. Peak condition is stronger than comeback stronger. Comeback stronger only does more damage if you hit the person 4 times. In my build I kill 1 to 2 shots. I have sharpshooter iron lung peak condition. Landon's patients does more damage for each second gone by. Reaches max at 15 seconds. Its always max damage on npc's.
The only time I have ever used "the short game" is for legendary animal hunting. I find it helps in getting them down quicker since you more than likely either have to chase after them with your horse and are close to them or if they're a carnivore they're after you and are close.
Question, I realize what you’re saying about PVP not using horses so it’s not good. BUT what about in the regular world? PVP takes place outside of signing up for PVP matches. Wouldn’t those cards benefit in that style of PVP?
If other players attack you in free roam, it's usually best to be on foot. A horse is a huge target and if are on your horse and they kill your horse, you are unable to do anything for a few seconds, giving the player plenty of time to finish you off. It's easier to aim on foot and you can't strafe easily on horseback
I use paint it black, fool me once, strange medicine, iron lung. I'm on PC so it's so easy to hit over and over with the sniper rifle that the buffs with sharpshooter and slow and steady don't even matter. No one can ever close the distance to lock on with PIB anyways!
That moment when you realize you have one of the shitiest loadouts possible.

When I was a noob hangman use to kill my bounties before I realized just what that card did lol 😬
My favorite Dead Eye are only 2- S&S & Slip Bas. I stack my cards according to what my opponent is using. I have a few I'm constantly switching. I combine the following - I.Lung, S.Meds, P.Cond., S.Shooter, Winning S., G.Choice, Fool me Once, The U. Eye.
I have certain order depending on what's going on, what my opponent or opponents are using... You'll eventually learn to counter 💯😉👍🏻
Yesss. thanks for doing this im really good at whats best for pvp i always gave my friends advice on PVP builds too help them fight better in pvp fights or cvc and stuff like that you doing this is proof that im right about what i teach them lol
You haven’t experienced actual slippery usage until you’ve joined a crew n you end up fighting n they pull out slippery alongside incendiary rounds
...or when you're randomly attacked you switch on and run far enough away to stop and switch lobbies leaving the "player killers" in your dust... #slipperybastard
I ran to a full posse all using slippery yesterday lol. It's the most toxic bullshit card
Super underrated in this video
@@alexfleming7191 just snipe lol
@@Lost_Sh33p you shouldnt be forced to play a certain way. And 7 people running at you with slippery is bull. Just remove slippery lol
Im late here but you clearly put much effort into this video, very helpful thank you.
Fantastic loadout guides! My favourites are definitely your No Tonic Build and Universal Build guides, mainly because of the dead eye regeneration and I'm too much of a scrooge to buy tonics. Thank you for your help....Definitely my favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 TH-camr 🤠
It's nice to see it all laid out like that. Thanks a lot great job.
Peak condition + express rounds + sharpshooter
1 shot kill.
Thank you Hazard for all your work so I can just play my best!! Game on
You missed the fact for PVE slow and steady will stop your horse bucking you, so its literally the best pve card as most people will only change from pvp ability cards to hunt a legendary for crips. As soon as I hear the noise of the legendary I switch to slow and steady
Quality work. clear and neat
Thank you!
amazing video for some of the newer players in the game great work
You helped me so much with everything on RDR2 🙏🏽much obliged
*smiles like a proud father when seeing both my card loadouts in the S tier* 😎
Thank you for the card evaluation
Me with my horse ability cards watching this 🥲
Don't worry, stacked horse ability cards are much better than he makes them up to be as long as you stay mounted.
@@thomaskwiatkowskiesq.328 I agree
15% increased damage on horseback, I don’t know how he put it in D tier
i just have a loadout for healing my team with dead eye and having dead eye go on forever. ill be downing dead eye tonics in tumbleweed while my friends fight in annesburg, getting my healing
Great video! What about my gamemode posse PvE freeroam missions with griefers every 15 minutes trying to ruin my game? I use SnS/strange medicine/ironlung/foolmeonce. Any suggestions? Or is SlipperyB better as an PvE antigriefing card?
honestly i think focus fire is underrated.
it should be atleast a tier.
it does not drain more dead eye, unlike slippery bastard paint it black and those other ones. here are flaws with each one:
PIB: Sometimes the when you misplace the targets, it is harder to hit the headshot or spot you want (if you could choose the targets urself, as it is in the story mode, that would be incredible overpowered).
I use focus fire all the time, ive tried the other ones, it just doesnt suit my aggressive approach.
also, what is you guys' setup? mine is:
- Double Lemat (fully upgraded + express shots)
- Lancester (fully upgraded + express shots)
- Carcano Rifle (fully upgraded + high velocity shots)
and lastly! i just want to say that i bought the black arabian today for 42 gold bars, and im proud :) gonna take real good care of it.
if you read this far, have a good day
Great video dude, would he handy to have a third category for hunting.
Exactly what I needed, super informative thanks Hazard!
Very informative. Thank you
For pve, I have quite an inspiration, sharpshooter, iron lung, and peak condition because of the great damage reduction, regeneration, and extra bit of damage.
Come back stronger is way too underrated
Been using that card since rank 10, and now 285.
I absolutely love the convenience of it and the amount of tonics i save
@@RichieAlton ,It's a good card,Hazard don't like it because he likes to go out in the open, the guy never takes cover or get worried about health.
Thanks!!
Amazing video what an effort it pretty much confirms what I already thought about most ability cards so thanks so much for your efforts
Extremely helpful. Thank you for your hard work!
Thank you for the dedication.
One of the best videos I’ve seen that truly explains ability cards in depth. Happy to see I’ve been using the top recommendations in my personal load out too.
I needed some new tips after getting back on RDR2, especially ability cards. Great info broski, you just got another Sub!! 👌🏾👍🏾💯
Focus fire with the right build hits like a truck
Also half of the cards that are seen as useless or not that good are litteraly used for the max damage or max defense output
Great video. Love ability cars videos. In depth and well done. Thoughtful list. Thank you.
Thanks for watching Ed! As always its much appreciated :)
Nice vid Haz love your dedication. Paint it Black is just necessary for me.
I use iron lung, fool me once, never without one and a moment to recuperate, so I guess I was given good advice. I asked a friend what cards to use cause I was tired of getting one shored by other players
Thanks! this will help me a lot :)
Good man good work, hope you hit your dream.🧡
Good video
I think my fav is dead eye how about you hazard
if you master slippery bastard with the carcano rifle it's disgustingly powerful..
Even my friend (Fadedninja119) watches Hazard's videos and I enjoy his videos too because they are so instructive and the guy knows what he's talking about
When your normal abilities are all E tier in PVE section
Damn I was having trouble thanks very much
Certain cards are used overly by greifers making them hated card.
Only those that can't use or defend against it hate it. Slippery and pib are the only dead eye cards I'd ever use.
actually most of us griefers use pib its the trolls who use slip
Thank you very much !!!
Awesome videoo
Paint it Black is an automatic S tier for the Rolling Stones reference, but it’s still the best card in the game use-wise too.
Any tips?
yes, for small animals use the varmint rifle, if you do a lot of hunting it's best to be a trader, you get a lot more $$ with it.
Thank you so very much. Clearly explained, learned a lot more about the cards!
This is my opinion on how ability cards should be ranked taking in consideration for PVE and PVP. I am a beta player who is almost level 950 on playstation with almost 100k player kills. And I don't even PVP as much as some of the tryhards out there. I am a free aim player even when I PVP.
Tier III (Best cards)
Paint it Black, Slippery Bastard, Sharpshooter, Hangman, Fool Me Once, Never Without One
Tier II
Slow and Steady, Focus Fire, Gunslinger's Choice, Winning Streak, Iron Lung, Peak Condition, Cold Blooded, Come Back Stronger, Eye for an Eye, Live for the Fight, The Unblinking Eye
Tier I (Not completely useless and could be used in one or two situations)
Quite an Inspiration, Landon's Patience, The Short Game, Strange Medicine, A Kick in the Butt, Friends for Life, Strength in Numbers, Hunker Down
Tier 0 (Completely useless and should never be used)
A Moment to Recuperate, Necessity Breeds, Ride Like the Wind, A Gift of Focus, Take the Pain Away, To Fight Another Day, Of Single Purpose
This is Awesome video ! You been helping me since I found your Channel ! #DayOne!
Peak condition & Landon's patience should be at least A tier for both pvp & pve
Agreed the info in video is not accurate. Peak condition is stronger than comeback stronger. Comeback stronger only does more damage if you hit the person 4 times. In my build I kill 1 to 2 shots. I have sharpshooter iron lung peak condition. Landon's patients does more damage for each second gone by. Reaches max at 15 seconds. Its always max damage on npc's.
If you put my hangman's card in the bottom tier I swear to god......
I have so much fun with that card.
How
I wont even bother studying these cards , i ll just use the 4 cards that offer universal advantages
