My beard growth does just like yours and I do the same with the neck area in that I go straight down on the first pass (With for the rest of the face and trachea area ), which is really an Across the growth pass for the neck area. I do the With pass for the neck area on the Across pass for the rest of the face. Then I do the Against the growth pass for the neck area, then relather the shaved area and do the Against the growth pass, going from the chestline, up the neck (a second Across for that area) and then go up on the sides first, doing the Against for that area of the face, then get the chin area last. It is my most sensitive area on the face and I make sure that the lather for that area is really good.
Great video Paul that new razor looks great I will have to look it up, I love the body shop Macaroot and Aloe shaving soap the soothing aftershave balm water based gel is great if you suffer with irritation or even if you have razor burn it stings for a minuet or so then irritation is gone I only use it if needed so anyone that is taking up de shaving it is great investment to have those razor carry cases look great take care and have a great week 😀
SOTD will be the 34C with Astra SP Palmolive shave cream Maggards pre-shave oil the hard soap pucks really don't have any slickness to them so I'm staying with cream
Was looking forward to a comparison of these. I found that the old formula is quite a bit better for me, and I got more nicks with the new one, which I don’t remember before. I was pretty disappointed as the old formula was great and good value for money, but I guess if some people were having an irritated reaction then they had to change it?
Can't go wrong with Personna blades. Credit where it's due, GSC really did quite a fantastic job with that head imo. All the efficiency of the original Muhle R41 minus the consequences. Doesn't clog and rinses clean. That wood case is splendid as I'd really like a heirloom-quality case for my trusty Slim to travel with and collect. Chocolate bunnies & colored hard boiled eggs make for tasty eats, but let us celebrate Jesus Christ is risen and among us. Happy Easter everyone. Be safe and be well.
Another great video PaulH ! Right on with the steak and chips, as you call them 😉 As for the razor, I personally am not a fan of the smooth non knurled surface razor's. Although maybe that's because I get shave soap....EVERYWHERE lol. I prefer to have nice knurling on the handle. And I'm not a fan of the Gold stuff, but if it's knurled nicely, color doesn't mean much right. Happy Easter to you and your family!!!
I prefer the original, I used it with cartridges years ago before I discovered DE shaving and it was brilliant. I have the new version and it's ok, but not amazing.

Hey mate it's Adam in aldershot. I have a challenge/test for you to try over the next month. Try doing two pass only shaves over the next month and see how your skin will feel and look better. I used to do three passes and my skin especially the neck area was constantly red and blotchy.. I've been doing two pass shaves for a while now and would never change this new method. No irritation, no shaving cuts, and when you've moisturised after it feels virtually like a three pass shave. Let me know what you think. Cheers 👍👍

To help Rob, who is wont to switch back to cartridges.... I recommend, try a different blade. You might only need a new type of blade. They make lots of different brands/types because there are lots of different faces. Don’t go by what someone else says is the “best” or “sharpest” because your face is different and will respond differently. Find what works for YOU. Next, try a pre-shave product like Proraso White (for sensitive skin-a small jar lasts me almost a year). Finally, remember to use a light touch, pay attention to the grain, and try FEWER passes. Every shave doesn’t have to be a BBS shave. And Paul, BBS doesn’t mean Bleeding Blood Shave! “You can’t get closer than blood!” some say. Find your limit and stop. But don’t give up. There is a learning curve but you will find it is worth it in the end. Paul, you just make it look so effortless.
If you have to suggest a better shaving cream than Maca root which one would it be? Looking for a cream with equal or more slickness with a fresher scent.
Not many shaving creams better in slickness, but Taylor Of Old Bond St range of creams are good, and have a good choice of scents, Arko shaving creams are good too. There are many really.

I bought a Parker Variant this past winter. It is a very good razor. The one side of the head as indicator lines. Just make sure you line them up and it shaves wonderfully. There are no mechanical issues with it, just consumers not operating it correctly. It is very, very easy to use!

Hi Some people cant handle 3 passes, Ive only recently started shaving against the grain it took my skin a few years to adjust
