I own these. I'm a bit disappointed in the aspect ratio of the image. It is more of an SD aspect, although it claims to be full HD.
Other than that, for the price, these things really perform!
The ability to observe and, photograph or film, the nocturnal animals in the woods at night is why I bought them.
They do a great job (Still, wish it was a wide-screen HD image)
The digital zoom works, but as with all digital zooms, the image quality suffers. (Digital zoom is nothing more than in-camera cropping, and you should wait until you get to a PC/MAC to crop!)
I use the zoom for observation, but when filming or taking photos, I never zoom! I crop the images later, on a computer (the exact same as digital zoom, but with better image control), because I have more control while editing than I do in the field, and then I know I have stored the highest quality, un-zoomed, image saved on my card.
People buying these for tactical use, or night-hiking, etc, are looking at the wrong equipment.
These are useful where using binoculars at night would be useful.
Any idea what equipment I should look for then for night hiking?

@@samial-khudri1776 yeah I'm interested too. I want good night vision Googles/ binoculars with added concealment. I made a really good night ghillie suit in all black/dark green pine needles sewed on. Just need enhanced vision.
They're huge, but I'd still love a way to rig them up to a helmet mount to use hands-free

Walking with a minimum magnification of 5x in your eyes would end badly in any situation.

Are they any good for spotting cloaked UFO's?
I think you need a device with an image intensifier tube for seeing anything far away in the sky at night. Digital night vision doesn't have this. For sky watching an infra red illuminator would be useless as they only reach a short distance, therefore you rely on the image intensifier to be able to see all those millions of stars etc you can't see with the naked eye. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm no expert.
