I am a woman from south africa, left my church because i was so blind sided by things that i never realized our preacher a woman was not supposed to be on the pulpit, after pray about it God gave me your scripture of “why woman cannot preach” i was so happy that i am not the only one who knew that was wrong. After I came out of Pentecostalism, John Mac was one of the first sermons I heard online. It was the pure Gospel, but it was like nothing I had heard before. It was so refreshing to get back to the Bible, to hear someone exegete it correctly and for Jesus to come alive. Thank you Jesus for John Mac and thank you John Mac for just preaching Christ and nothing else.

I am a brazilian christian. I can't thank God enough for the ministry of John MacArthur. His sermons are totaly biblical. His respect for Scripture acuracy is amazing. I listen to his sermons every day, since 2014 (about 500 sermons antil now...). They are pure spiritual food.
I'm a former Catholic and a fairly new christian. I am so thankful to John MacArthur because without his wisdom, I might have been led astray by these "easy conversion pastors"!
David Ortiz. That's the point. The church is being with Jesus and in congregation with fellow BELIEVERS. Not "doers". For a church to be a church of Christ it must have true believers in Jesus Christ and people that believe his gospel as it is written. This is so that you can be saved and receive then be baptized with the Holy Spirit. So that we can begin our walk with God as God intended, NOT with man. That is something you don't necessarily get with Catholicism. You can, but you may not.
Don’t listen to catholics I was one obey God and his word, I pray that will guide you to the truth, is not easy when you tell people you’re leaving the church they will hate you, I decided to obey God and it was the best decision ever ,he came to me while I was a catholic he started to draw me to jesus, trust in him don’t look back

He adds works to the gospel. There are exactly zero works involved in getting saved. Anyone who simply believes in their heart that Jesus Christ paid their sin debt in full on the cross will be saved. John MacArthur and MANY like him add to that requirement, which makes it another gospel.

I love listening to John MacArthur preach. It is so awesome how he explains the Bible by verse. He helps me so much everytime I listen.

@Guy Fawkes-Day Everyone is entitled to their opinions but there is only one truth and it is written. What is written can only be understood by Spirit and Truth. You must first be born again in Christ! Repent. The kingdom of heaven is near.
I thank God for John MacArthur's strength in the face of pressures we can't imagine and he has had it for a lifetime! So many ministers fall over one stumbling block or another but the Lord has preserved John MacArthur's integrity to be an encouragement and inspiration to the rest of us. He has helped me so much. If only I had heard him many years ago (and been willing to listen).

John MacArthur: sound Christian doctrine LIKE A BOSS!
And I mean, a humble “boss” yet one whose authority comes from his faith in God and his own surrender and submission to Jesus Christ, which obviously shows in the ways The Holy Spirit has worked in him and through him.
The opposition is fierce...but that’s to be expected when it comes to speaking the truth about The Truth...Who’s Jesus Himself!
To follow Him is to literally declare war in the ways of this world...hence the world hates us...obviously, so does the prince of darkness...the actual liar, who’s satan and his followers.
They rejected/reject and hated/hate our Lord...therefore, they reject and hate us...and since He loves them, so must we!
Forgiving and loving those who count themselves as our enemies...this is how we show whom we truly are!
We are followers of Jesus Christ! Therefore, we FOLLOW HIM AND HIS WAYS...NOT our own ways and certainly not the ways of this world!
Sounds like yours has been quite the journey, brother MacArthur...and we’re so blessed that God has your journey here still “in progress”!

I never heard John MacArthur teach contrary to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone...so I don’t understand your claims that he believes the false doctrine of salvation through works. Would you mind presenting some evidence to back up your serious accusation against John MacArthur?
I’m not saying you’re wrong - John MacArthur has been a Christian theologian, author, and teacher for 50 years...that’s just a couple years shy of my age...lol... - and since I’ve only begun listening to his sermons about a decade ago or so but not as frequently as in the past couple years, I’m pretty sure I have yet to watch most of his sermons.
However, recently I’ve been watching his sermons quite frequently, almost daily and often times, more than one sermon a day.
I’m finding that he has quite a few sermons on salvation through faith in Christ alone while exposing false legalistic teachers, who impose and teach the false satanic doctrine of salvation through works.
Therefore, as far as my exposure to his ministry, sermon messages and my understanding of it, I find MacArthur teaching exactly as per the Bible verses you mentioned above.
If you wish, I’ll be glad to share links to some of MacArthur’s sermons about salvation through faith in Christ alone.
By the way, I don’t always agree with how John MacArthur comes across. Though there were only 2 or 3 instances in which I thought he could’ve done much better in expressing himself, as far as I understood it, there was nothing in his message contrary to what I know as Sound Biblical Doctrine.
One thing I completely agree with you is that all of us must place our trust solely on God! Thank you for expressing this truth!

Love John MacArthur and I totally understand what he is talking about when it comes to Lordship and his book, “The Gospel According to Jesus”. I believed a false gospel for the first 27 years of my life and I had an incident that led me to surrender my life to Christ. There are many Christians out there that will hear Jesus tell them he doesn’t know them. I have become a minister for Fellowship of Christian Athletes because I feel the call to warn people about accepting the false gospel that is too common in American culture

I love John MacArthur and I'm so very thankful for him. I attend a Church every Sunday where too much of the outside secular world has influenced it and the women are the leaders. It is weak and most importantly it is failing. I'm thankful that I can tune in on the internet and listen to wise men like John MacArthur and get the truth despite not getting it on a Sunday.

I am in Canada, even the "evangelical" denominations like Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal that advertise that they are Churches that follow the Bible and do appear to on the surface have allowed subtlety these degenerate ideas and ideology into the Church.
I have pretty much given up finding an appropriate Church for the time being. Things are so wishy washy and weak in my country in general and it has spilled into our Churches and I'm tired of trying to beat my head against the wall. Its sad but that's the reality right now.
His a blessing from god to everyone that Jesus is king in there hearts

Elevated Harmony I just came back from watching that video. I’m not a Calvinist personally. I love my Calvinist brothers in Christ. But I have to say, that video is one of the worst misrepresentations of Calvinism I’ve ever seen. That Pastor doesn’t have a clue and needs to spend some more time researching a system of theology before he tries to tear it apart. It’s sad to see someone look so silly arguing against a theology he is so badly misrepresenting. I left pretty much the same comment there as well.

As a latecomers to Christ and becoming of age in 1980, my whole life is ruined. The first generation, shacked up, sexual freedom, relativism etc. I'm divorced, alone and wish I had become a Christian at 20 and married Gods way.
Delores, I have made many many poor decisions too. Lived a life of sexual sin (while claiming to be a "Christian" - indeed, believed I was!). Sure, I have loads of regret as well, but then I remember God's mercy and grace towards me. A sinner like me! Eternal LIFE in the presence of my Lord and Savior! People like us can teach and encourage others because we have experienced the wrong ways to live. Until the Lord calls us home, His way is the way to life (now and forever). Keep encouraging yourself and others in Truth!

TRUE Christians, regardless of denomination, will always come together as drops of water become the ocean. A TRUE Christian is one who loves GOD with all his heart, mind and soul and loves others as he loves himself and feeds the hungry, clothes the naked, visits and befriends the lonely and in prison, shows mercy, kindness and compassion, has quiet patience and serves all by waiting upon the Lord.

So does anyone have a link to the video that Dr. MacArthur refers to where he was invited by Dr. Sproul to teach on election, and Dr. Sproul was sitting in the front row with a coke in his hands listening to him preach? I'd LOVE to hear or see that sermon!!!
I had to listen to many many of his teachings to see that this man is a true man of god and those that judge him on this alone utube is totally misguided

The minimalist salvation view is a serious problem now a days in the Independent Fundamental Baptist movement. I still go to IDFB church, but only because I have been unable to find a reformed theology church. I hear a lot of demonization in the IDFB circle of Calvinism, yet the things the Bible teaches are exactly what Calvin taught. He taught nothing new that I know of. Also I know when I got saved March 1st 2016 it was only when Christ made me see myself as a wicked lost sinner who needed to repent that I had true faith in Christ. Before that I was just religious but lost. But after that, I am no.longer the man I was. God is continually showing me the truth of Scripture and without repentance there is no salvation. It's no wonder I never quit my known sins of the past after praying "this little prayer" a lot of times. But when Christ got a hold of me from His Word, there was no skating over repentance or Lordship. Christ is now my Saviour and Lord thanks be to the Triune Holy God. I want to be more like my Saviour now and not live in deliberate sin or accidental sin. Repentance must be part of the born again process that God performs on His elect.
Isn't salvation simple?
Christians shouldn't feel they need to defend or explain themselves to their attackers. Just go on the offensive, thus as a protected class and inform your attackers they are commiting a hate crime against you and you will protect your rights. Then get an attorney who will sue them under whatever statutes will best apply to your situation.
All you hate mongers, towards the true man of God Johnny Mac, I know who you are, and I say this because you love to do the deeds of your father the devil, who is the original sinner. You are decived, how I know that, just by your comments about this true man of God. If you were truly saved you will hate your sins just like Jesus hates all sin, and you would love Jesus and would obey His commandments , Jesus said in John 14:15, if you love me you will keep my commandments. Now no true Christian can live perfectly or obey perfectly not even Apostle Paul lived perfectly, Romans 7. But all those who are true born of His Spirit, children of God, will for the rest of their lives strive to walk in obedience not on their own but by the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in them. It is the Holy Spirit who convicts us of our sins and leads us to forsake them, and thus we are day by day, sanctified by the Holy Spirit, and guess what the Spirit of God, uses to sanctify us, Jesus said in John 17:17, as He was praying for all those who belong to Him. He said Sanctify them by Your truth ,Your word is truth. It's obvious you don't know the Lord, if you did, you would continue in His word and you would know the truth and the truth would set you free, in your case free from Satan, and his lies he whispers in your ears lies and says, you are saved, you went forward and received Jesus, you said the prayer, you raised your hand, you are saved by grace, you are covered, don't worry about your sins you are now living in,and practicing, they are covered by grace just go ahead live like like me, sin all you want, for the rest of your lives and God will let you in His heaven. You are duped by the father of lies who you fallow. You are still not convinced. Jesus said why do you call me Lord, Lord, and don't do what I say. Luke 6:46. How about this one, not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord, will shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Matt. 7:21. Are you hearing the word of the Lord. I hope and pray that you will hear His word,and repent quickly, and cry out to God to forgive your sins, as you confess them, and ask Him to save your soul. He knows if you mean business with Him, that is, He sees your heart, and if you do mean business with Him, truly He will not only forgive you and save your soul, at that very moment you will be baptized by His Holy Spirit into the true body of Christ, and you will be born of His Spirit who will never leave you nor forsake you never. And then the Holy Spirit will teach the truth of Scriptures to you as you study His word. 2 Timothy 2:15, and you will fall in love with Jesus like never before and you will, by the power of the Holy Spirit, strive to live in obedience to His Scriptures His word, which will sanctify you day by day until He takes you home. Then you will be like Jesus perfect and Holy. Read. 2 Corinthians 5:17, Titus 2:12, if you are still bent on going the devil's way by abusing God's grace as a license to sin, then be assured you are decived and when you findlay stand before the Lord, this is what Jesus will say to you, in Matt. 7:22-23. Many will say to Me, in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name. And then will I declare to them, I never knew you, depart from Me you who practice iniquity. If you are not hearing what the Lord Jesus is saying to you by His word of truth, the Scriptures I quoted, then He also says this to you. You will not believe because you are not of My sheep. Lord Jesus Christ, please have mercy on all who are decived by not submitting to Your clear truth Lord, which even a child can grasp and understand, please open the eyes of those who say I believe in Jesus that He died for my sins and say some kind of prayer to you and then go away and nothing has changed in their lives as far as their sins go, they just keep on living in sin by believing false teachers whom they fallow or have heard on TV or You Tube, who abuse your grace and tell lies, that they are covered by your grace and that they can have their sins, and You also, along with their sins, blasphemy right from the pit of hell. Lord you are in the business of saving souls for your glory, snatch those who are decived thinking they are saved when in fact they are not. Open their ears to hear your word of truth, and open their eyes to see that they are duped by the father of lies, none other then devil himself. Mercy Father God mercy on their souls save many Lord Jesus.
Amen. I grew up in a dead spirit church, went to several charismatic churches, and I knew deep down these weren't right at all, there's sth wrong. I always believe that the bible should be at the centre of christian teaching. I stumbled upon one of his sermon in youtube, and I knew I had found a true christian that is worth listening to. Then I found some other teachers, R.C. Sproul, Steve Lawson, Piper, and Paul Washer. Regards from Indonesia.

The Dedication of the Temple
2 Chronicles 7 :
When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it. 3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying,
“He is good;
his love endures forever.”
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord. 5 And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God. 6 The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the Lord’s musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, “His love endures forever.” Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.
7 Solomon consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the Lord, and there he offered burnt offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar he had made could not hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat portions.
8 So Solomon observed the festival at that time for seven days, and all Israel with him-a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt. 9 On the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had celebrated the dedication of the altar for seven days and the festival for seven days more. 10 On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people to their homes, joyful and glad in heart for the good things the Lord had done for David and Solomon and for his people Israel.
The Lord Appears to Solomon
11 When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, 12 the Lord appeared to him at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.
13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
17 “As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws, 18 I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to rule over Israel.’
Tood Friel practically deifies John MacArthur, as do others, so I understand his reluctance to chastise him. Having said that, Mr. MacArthur made one unbelievably heretical statement some years back and I never seen any of these "disciples of John" correct him. Mr. MacArthur said that a person could take the mark of the beast and still be saved afterwards. This is disturbing to say the least, as it completely contradicts what is clearly written in Revelation 14:9-12. I wish this guy would stop endorsing everybody on "his team," no matter what they say, while condemning others at the same time.
We need more explanation from John why he said so. We just can't call him a heretic or something like that just from a few words of the statement. He knows the Bible better than us.

People who are of the free grace movement thinks he preaches salvation by works, but it’s a flat lie. What he emphasizes on what the Bible actually says in James 2:14-26. What do we do with that passage? It is said that Luther didn’t like it very much. But if we’re going to believe James is part of Scripture, then we’re going to accept it doesn’t contradict the rest of Scripture, rather it compliments it. It’s a shame that those who aren’t you try yo explain what you believe. The free grace movement doesn’t like the idea of sanctification, the constant battle of the Christian to reach the stature of the perfect man. Let’s use the duck saying and apply it to this: If it walks like a non believer and it sounds like a non believer, it’s probably a non believer. In a nutshell, Christians are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone, but your new nature will automatically call you to walk in Christ and serve him. If that doesn’t happen, then what is that person?

Well it sounds like you’re a little confused. Although accepting Christ as our Savior is how we are saved we are also instructed to go out and sin no more. And being born again means we become new, how are our acts not going to be different? Not that we are doing the new things because we are somehow trying to buy our way into heaven, but because being Christian and living as a Christian we do good deeds and try to live according to the law, God’s law. That sounds like what you’re saying. And remember, when you’re new in the faith, you are like a child and you don’t know everything about the new life you are now part of, that’s not saying you’re not saved or saved more or less than anybody else. The Bible also says to those that are given much, much will be expected.
God’s love is unconditional and the story of the protocol son sums that up for new Christians, they are overwhelmingly accepted home.

Women in ministry is not about feminism. We've had women preachers for over a century in the Pentecostal world. It's about exegesis, not feminism.

I agree that the text should be exegeted. But I have yet to see any exegesis which would lead me to believe that women could preach in church. I think the New Testament clearly shows women involved in following Jesus, telling others to follow him, assisting his ministry with resources, and learning the Gospel. As for the disciples, apostles, elders, overseers, and (probably most) deacons, they were men. This would accord with the Hebrew Bible, in which the elders, judges, (most) prophets, and Rabbis were men. This seems consistent to me. If you have a different understanding, could you share the verses and context?
@David Ortiz I fail to see where Miriam "pretended to be a prophet". Can you defend that exegetically? Also, Deborah and Huldah were prophets. The Rabbi's count 7 women as prophets in the Hebrew Bible. As I stated beforehand, this has not changed the role of elder or Rabbi in Israelite times (or today). It is unnecessary to pretend that no women did anything in the Bible just to defend the teaching of Paul.

His exact quote from the latest on this topic: "Of course women can teach..." The objection is to holding the role of elder and overseer (who preaches to the assembled congregation) in the Church.

John MacArthur treads underfoot the necessity and efficacy (power) of the literal, physical, precious, blood of Jesus Christ! Literally, MacArthur teaches that Jesus' physical blood soaked into the dirt at Calvary and stayed there, having no significance of itself. That's blasphemy and a deadly teaching, because without the blood applied to the mercy seat in the Old Testament, the sins of the people weren't atoned for. If the blood hadn't been applied to the home's doorpost in Egypt, the firstborn died. Likewise, if Christ's literal, liquid, precious, blood hadn't been sprinkled upon the heavenly Mercy Seat to appease the wrath of Father against man's sin, our sins couldn't have been washed away.
