Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS - Year of the Naughty Boy (or Girl) Bike

- Whilst we haven’t given up hope, as we get ever closer to the demise of the internal combustion engine I feel we ought to celebrate the naughty boy bikes, of which there are many, whilst we can. Not just modern sports bikes, these are any bike that make you want to go just a little bit faster (not necessarily fast) than you would on some other bikes. So, I have made 2023, the year of the naughty boy bike.

I love the headlights of this bike so much. It looks annoyed about everything and nothing. Kindred spirits we are! 😠

Good morning TAYM I to would class that one as a very naughty boy / girl bike too it does have a lovely sound when going slow I think all big engine bikes have that sound enjoyed this one 👍👍

Great review as always Mr Taym I rode the street triple and that was fast enough, it's all about self control lol just as soon as you sit one it seem to take over people it's in the blood.

Triumph do a 20-25mm lowering kit for Dave's of the world 🌎.
Lowers rear by 20-25mm & just use the lowering setting on the forks & lower front 18mm at front.Will loose 20mm ground clearance though but if you got your heart set on one lower ground clearance is a small price to pay.
The cruise control holds you at a steady 42mph, seems to work really well😅

I really like the Speed Triple 1200RS, am just waiting for Triumph to sort out the paint options like they have done with the Street Triple 765 🙂

i wish they would sort the tank capacity out 15.5l is just not enough running dry at 130 miles

I have been so close to buying the 1050RS many times, but the gearbox and QS issues really put me off, and it seems there are the same issues here on the 1200RS too! if you like your Triumphs though, maybe pop past my channel when you have the time, plenty to choose from there 😁

@@treemands Not a "HATER" at all? just look around the internet, the 1200 and the 1050 both have big issues with the QS and gearbox! obviously not ALL bikes will have these issues, but it is very common ;)
@@treemands I know, so many people go in about gear boxes on the Triumph T120 breaking but I know loads of people with them and not one of them has had any problems with theirs. I blame Stuart Fillingham 😂😂😂😂

For me the only thing that lets it down is the headlight unit. From the side it looks like an afterthought and doesn’t flow with the rest of the bike.
The world would be a great place if it wasn’t for people getting in the way. 🤣

I type unintelligent, but I don't want quick shifters, cruise control or electronic rider mods. I love my Concours as it has none of them. Basic is better in my mind. Less to go wrong, and if wrong decides to happen, it's my fault. I will take ABS for the Oohww poop 💩 times. I am human!

I think it looks great but a bit too much for me both in price and performance. Wouldn't mind the new 765 RS. Another nice ride, roll on the warmer weather.🥶

As you've so ably demonstrated TAYM, it's not the bike that's naughty or nice, but the rider. I can be naughty on my Himalayan and there's plenty of naughty riders on 125 scooters in London

If you live in a built up area don’t bother with the Speed , it’s a waste of a bike , I’ve got one and it’s an absolute masterpiece but it’s totally strangled in town, if you live in the countryside then you’ll absolutely love it 😍
I’ve had mine since last March and I swear to you I’ve never taken it above 7000 Rpm ! That’s how much power it has , which is good in one way, but not so good another what I mean to say is you can’t really enjoy the bike as much as you want to because you’ll just get caught speeding. It’s as simple as that if I had the choice again I would buy the street triple without a shadow of a doubt. 👍🏾

Good afternoon TAYM. Not the type of bike I would buy but I do love the look of it, much prefer this to the RR I think it looks like a praying mantis with the stance and those headlights stuck out the front. Would Mrs TAYM approve ?

TAYM IMPORTANT ! Please get this message out to Enfield owners of newer models, They are now very NICKABLE!. TH-camr "That Bloke on a motorbike" reports that 5 MASKED Theives attempted the theft of his 350 Classic from his workplace, only by action from Dave and his workmates prevented the theft, but some damage occurred, enough to require Dealer attention, though I don't know the extent until hear back form him, of all places this was in Yorkshire! An excellent commentary, which didn't do my head in. The RS has an angry wasp head and that and the tank design make it look very naughty. Then there is the sting in the tail. I can't possibly be naughty on my Royal Anvil, but I can at least try to sound naughty; possibly even naughtier sounding than the RS, in a different sort of way😁😁. Human nature is just about impossible to fathom, but certainly some car drivers are jealous of the freedom that they see in motorbike riders. There's nowt so queer as folk as they say somewhere in Pomgolia.. 👍👍. I am not sold on naughty boy bikes though .........

Very naughty and even it's little cousins the street's are also naughty I fancied myself on this one until I seen how tall it is and how to short I was very frustrating 🤣. Speaking of the new Speed triples will you be trying any of the naughty little devils TAYM in the interest of 2023 being the naught year .Well everone wanted to see the Triumph TAYM even though they were pretending not to take any notice I could tell even the old dog looked .So would you sell a few of your bikes to own one of these bad girls TAYM or is the Thruxton still in your mind I wonder .😉👌👍choice watch .

Is it just me? I find that bug-eyed headlamp nacelle fitted to naked Triumphs really ugly, I’d far prefer a ‘standard’ round headlamp (or two).
